I'm installing the intake cam and it calls for a bit more torque than a lot of the other bolts I've been working with (around 92 lb-ft if my calculations are right). The problem is, my wrench holding the camshaft in place isn't letting me get enough leverage to crank on the torque wrench? Is there a better or safer way to get this on properly without possibly turning the camshaft? Perhaps get it on and then put the timing belt on and then finish torquing or what?

the short simple answer is get a wrench that fits the cam...iirc its close to 26mm and harbor freight sells a long handled wrench that should fit the bill.

I have found that for cams requring single bolts (ka, sr, rb25 vtc) that it is best to have a helper hold the cam in place (with a proper wrench) while you torque it...sometimes a breaker bar is needed to stablize the cam as it will definately try to move against the torque you're gonna be putting on it.

I suppose it's a bad idea to use the head itself as a wedge with my wrench stabilizing the camshaft? I wouldn't want to notch it or anything.
