$6600 for a redtop swap. The clip seems a bit pricey to me. Anyone else?

Hey Repo, I was going to add to your old thread about this exact shop. If you remember I was trying to get the number of the girl who had ties with Santeca. Well, I got a call late last night from a friend who bumped into her. ANYWAY, this is the shop that spun off of Santeca. I was planning on calling them, catching up on old times, and going down to their shop. If you want to join up with me we can make it a date. :D But really, this is the new Santeca. They did quality work on their 240 so I can only assume from that. Hit me up sometime and we can check it out. Peace.

EDIT: After reading their site, their prices seem really high.

Cool. When would you go there? It's worth checking out and attempting negotiations. If they insist on maintaining their current pricing, then they're not going to be around long.

Let me know when you're free and we'll hook it up.

If they are open on Sunday, that would be the best day for me. I should have the car up and running too. So where are you going to be taking me for dinner Repo? Should I wear casual or fine dining attire? :D

Scott :If thats everything included thats not unreasonable at all. That way <they> are carried the risk of shipping/supply problems and if the engine needs new peripherals they have to do that to.A all for one deal is a good way for the customer.

Too many shops of folks, from this board even had terrible problesm with various things so its important to keep the entire risk/incentive of a clean install with a decent engine with the shop. For that 4K seems a pretty good deal.

If u orderd an engine yourself and then found an installer you might be able to save some bucks but not so amny eiethr and teh risk of problem would be much greater.

Fred..:)

Fred your awesome!! Ya they said its everything, transmission, ecu, everything. Plus they said they would install mods for free but I want to do that stuff myself. I was thinking if I can order the engine myself and find a local installer that is on the boards that would be sweet. Dave from HT said he knew someone in chicago so we shall see!!Thanks fred,ScottPS. sorry to whore up your thread, but I think 6000+ is too much. but I don't know to much yet

im still behind http://www.jarcoinc.com if you want a clip, most of their stuff come in loaded with aftermarket parts that they leave on and you get when you get a clip from them.

I'll take you to damned St. Elmo's as long as you put out on the first date. :D Of course, my wife might have a problem with that...

I'd like to know about this place in Chicago. At the very least, use that as leverage to get these other guys to drop their price. It would be very convenient for me to get someone locally to do the swap. If I could find a place to work on it myself, I'd just do that but I know of nowhere offhand.

pgt, Sundays are usually good for me, but this Sunday might not be good as I'll probably be tied up going to Joann Fabrics or something...

My home # is 877-0865, work 253-1551. Probably be easier if we just set up a time over the phone.

Well damn, you didn't say anything about Joann Fabrics. F*** the engine swap, I need some new material for this GREAT pillow I am making! Let's meet up at Joann's instead!

This is what I'm thinking. I feel like I should be able to get a good quality swap done for $5k.

Any takers? No time on my end to do it myself.

Repo, I know that you said you didn't want to install it yourself, but if you end up doing that I would really like to help. I didn't install my redtop and I miss that feeling of accomplishment. If I could help someone else install theirs maybe I would get a small piece of my manhood back. Just playin with ya but I would like to help you install it if that is what you decide to do.

That would be cool. I just have to find time. Like pgt said, my time to work on my car is limited. I lust after the Indy Race Cores FMIC. I met Ken last year when I was at the Mitsu dealer. Pretty squared-away guy with a good company. And HUGE intercoolers!

Paul, I know. I am more of a woman every passing day. Keep me updated on Chip. It may be a month or two before I can drop the cash on a clip. We'll see how business goes.

pgt, I totally understand. I'm going to feel like a tool if I wind up having to pay someone to swap this ***** for me. :rolleyes

Like pgt892, I'm in Indy area too. Did the swap pretty much myself. SR redtop into S13. Slw240sx, what's going on in Indy? A 240SX meet or something?
