I am planning to update my G coupe to a current year, but I am very interested in their convertible that's coming out so I am holding off on buying a new coupe until I get a chance to drive the convertible. It's likely most of us have read the specs for the new convertible, so I am curious what your opinions/suggestions are. Coupe or Convertible?

Convertibles aren't my thing...

So I'd say a coupe, but don't take my word for it... set up a test drive for both and decide then...

Even though I am not the tallest guy I find the coupe to be a little bit short on head room so that would have to be something to consider. Being a hard top convertible it would/should be ok in your area. With the convertible brings complexity, somthing also to consider.

In the way of looks I like it better with the top up than down, but then if you have never owned a convertible when the weather is nice it is fun to cruise around in with the top down. Even in bad weather with the top down I like it, just keep the windows up and the visors up and the wind would flow over my head. the heater would keep me plenty warm.

Convertibles are hot in hot weather in traffic, need to consider this. You insurance may be a lot higher depending on your age. Now something many don't realize, while it may not be the case with the Infiniti, many convertibles weigh much more than a coupe or sedan due to compensation for the lack of support a roof provides.

Reminds me of a mint 06 LOADEd vette convert. that was at our local Chevy dealer last week. Red with tan top & interior. had only 3K miles on i! It's now in the driveway of two guys that live at the front of the neighborhood entrance! Now, I don't know for sure, but they do have a rainbow round wind thingie stuck in the front yard. And, their yard probably looks the best with all of their flowers. Your comment just was so timely

Oh, and I'm not into converts. The local Infiniti dealer says they expect one in late June?!?!

However, the local Chevy dealer is scheduled to unvail their new Camaro this Wed. They are hitting lots, have spied them on ebay.

=[ Anything you can compare to a Solara should not be driven by man.

Personally I don't like convertibles, but it all depends on your driving I guess. If you like leisure drives and such then I'd go for it, but I like the whole sport look with the occasional autocross, so the coupe is for me.

I am not much of a racer, but I do have moments when I floor it when I want my heart rate to go up! Come to think of it, I don't even open the sunroof all that much....but I do like the design of the convertible and the option of going "topless".

Convertibles are no more a gay thing than black wheels.

Well I am not gay by any means and I do like the vert.

I haven't seen one in person but I really like the looks so far. I have always loved verts especially the SC430 Lexus. But then I really like the new 370z Roadster. I think i like it better even than the g37 vert.

While the 61 Ford Victoria makes a nice lowrider I don't think I like the yellow wheels anymore than black ones. Does this mean lowriders are owned by gays along with convertibles or a car with black wheels?

I saw a review on Motorweek...it definitely looks better than I initially thought. But the additional weight is pretty significant...over 400lbs! They should have used different, lighter-weight components on other parts of the car, ie exhaust.

The trunk is also way small since it's a hardtop.

If you're into 'verts, it's a beautiful car that almost beats the 3-series.

Here is a link to the article: http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2834a.shtml

I think you will find that it is a rare gay that has a pink car. Far more that have cars with black wheels.

My black 61 'vicky' had black wheels (with baby moons), and was complete with a black bumper (had to paint it after the chrome peeled off). We certainly would never have had yellow wheels. I think the car above is not pink either, but rather the factory color often referred to as 'Rose'.

Convertible is only gay if you have another guy sit on the passenger side. If you have a pornstar (female) on the passenger. You will look very cool!

Also convertible is more heavier then coupe or sedan.. I think the car weight over 4K lbs.. please correct me if I am wrong..

Yeah really, what's with the black wheels hate? I think black wheels are great. I don't like chrome however, it's just too old school.
