Just wondering if anyone has used Seafoam on a CA. I know a lot of folks use it on KAs, just wondering if there is any difference for a CA. Also, since I am having a hard time finding Seafoam here local, is there anything else I can use? I want to use it in the brake booster line to clean out my head.

It is the best thing in the world. I've seen first hand what it can do for a motor and there is never a time I don't reccomend it. I buy the stuff up like crazy when I can find it. I think I've got 3 cans just chilling at the garage right now cuz I bought 6 the last time I found it.

Pop off brake booster line at the booster. Get a funnel and pour about 1/2 of the can of Seafoam into the egine with it running and warm. Shut off the engine and let it sit for about 12 hours. Start the car. Get ready for it to smoke and suptter and such (I am going to do it at 3 am or so) Drive the car for a while to clean all of it out. It is a penetrating liquid that cleans carbon and gunk from the head, intake mani, and combustion chambers. You can also run it in the engine oil. Put it in and run the car for about 30 minutes, drain, and put in new oil. Supposedly, it is awesome stuff and many people use it as a maintenace tool.

Now I just gotta find some...

Just picked up three cans of SeaFoam. Dumped one in the tank of my SVX. Results.....almost immediate, smoother acceleration/idle, better throttle response. Gonna do the intake treatment tommorow.

I did find an ad on the web that says after pouring 1/3 pint into the intake and when car returns to normal idle you dump enough SeaFoam in to stall the engine. Let it sit for a while and restart.

I think next weekend I'll do the crankcase on both cars.

I couldn't do the SVX intake...rather unique manifold setup. I'll figure something out. However, I did do the intake on my V6 Grand Am.

Word of caution, if you dump enough SeaFoam down the booster hose to stall the engine make sure it's pointed well away from your face. Luckily I wasn't trying to eyeball the operation but it was close.

Very cool. I will be stopping by Home Depot Racing tomorrow to get stuff for my oil catch can (having friends that can weld is so nice), and then off to O'Reilley's for a new PCV and Seafoam!

O'rielly's charges $5.96 a can. BTW, my Grand Am runs soooo much better.

Got some at O'Reilley's. A can and a PCV cost me a whopping $5.37. Quick questions:-I assume it will foul the O2 sensor? I plan on taking it out while I do this to be sure unless someone tells me different.-Do you let it stall the engine, or not necessary?-How long do you let it sit? I've read 15-20 minutes to overnight.

Letting it stall the engine will ensure there is plenty of product soaking in to all the buildup. I wouldn't let it sit too long, don't want it all to evaporate away and everything dry out. Letting it sit for about 15 minutes seems to have worked wonders. Don't forget to pour about 2/3 of a can in the fuel tank (1 oz. per gal.). You'll get most of your results here....almost instantly cleans any gunk out of your injectors. My SVX runs sooooo smooth with only seafoam in the tank.

EDIT: P.S. They're not kidding about being out in the open when you start back up after pouring into the manifold.....gonna smoke like a sumbeech for 10 to 15 minutes.

Read the can. It's safe for all O2 sensors. No need to remove.
