Well, i thought this would make for an interesting thread... here's my list: BTW no trying to burn the 240, just forming an informative, and therapeutic approach to things..:D

1. The damn battery connections (specially the +) they start rotting like there's no tomorrow, and the miniscule copper "washer" is not worth a ****.

2. The ****ty "door open" switch on the driver's side that makes the open light go crazy...It pisses me off.

3. As of late, my damn starter solenoid is giving me problems...and this seems to happen often.

4. Something that happens often (including to my bro) the stupid master and slave (clutch)...

5. The crappy hatch lock that moves upward and starts making noise.

6. The hood "popping" mechanism that doesn't pop.

7. And this one...oh god, what's with the crappy bolts that seem to strip/break like crazy as if they were plastic?

8. Door seemed to not want to close smoothly either..(but I know there's gotta be a fix).

well, so far that's my rant... ADD yours to the list:pface

My bogging issue that I have yet to figure out what is causing it. It's so bad I can't even drive it. Too unreliable. Seems like it is eatting up a lot of gas too. :(

-Weak brakes (especially the floating caliper design on the rear that tends to wear unevenly..)-Plastic clips for interior panels...even if they weren't any stronger, they should have at least made them all the same design so you could find new ones easily....they all do the same thing anyway...-Power windows catch and shake the entire car when they start to go down-Weak suspension bushings that wear out and creak-Sunroof latch rattles when it's open (well, not after the rear strut bar)-Hatch doesn't always latch when it's shut-My glovebox has a keyhole for a key that I definitely don't have...guess that's just my car...at least I bought it with the glovebox unlocked...-I had the "hood doesn't pop open" problem but then I installed my front strut bar and it pushes up just enough on the insulation on the hood to pop it open nicely :)

But on the other hand it's an awesome car...these things give it personality. They're either easily fixed or very minor. It's pretty mild when stock but is very easy to work on and has a lot of potential for upgrades. I'm glad I got my 240...almost bought a Honda!

i kinda dig the auto seatbelts...and the plastic clips bothered me at the beginning, but after you learn how to take them off, they are no problem.

right now, not being able to turn on the car...no crank (good starter) and I rewired the damn thing.

I also have the problem w/headlights were only one low beam works and I have to turn on the high beams for both to work (weird thing is, one is low and one high)...I did replace the bulbs if you're wondering.

I just got done fixing my non-starting 240sx. What exactly is your situation? Do you hear the relays click when you try to start the ignition? Maybe I can be of assistance...

yeah..i narrowed it down to a stuck relay (i would guess it's the ignition relay) by the battery bolted to the passenger side fender. Anyways, i hit that biatch and it purred like a kitten afterwards.. So add that to the list...btw anyone know the name or have one I can buy?

Yeah.. that's the one that was giving me problems.

Some people said it's due to the alarm system(that I didn't even know was on the car) was partially disabled or something like that, so it cut power at the relay. So I just bypassed the relay altogether, and it starts up every time.

If you go to the dealership just tell them it's the starter relay.

i just thought of something else. Under heavy steering or braking...I hear this loud pop (rarely), as if someone had hammered the underbody of the car. Up to now, I have yet to discover what it is, and my brother has experienced it as well. It could very well be the brake lines going stiff and slapping the fender...who knows?

BTW crzycav, that relay is not the equivalent of the starter solenoid right? Our starters have the bendix+solenoid on the starter no?

I just don't want to be solenoid-less if I decide to bypass the realy..

1. how when I push in the clutch I have to stare are the rpm gauge to see if it is going to die.2. how I have 4 different keys are my 240, all of which look the same.3. how I have A/c, but alas it does not work4. how my brakes are warped, but are worsened by the fact that my suspensions is tired, so it shakes like a fat man running after the icecream truck.

Chingon, I had the same problem. Take off the steering column trim and unplug and remove the light switch. There is a white semi-opaque plastic plate held on with some plastic rivet-like fasteners. Snap them off. This will get you inside the light switch. Carefully take it apart and clean up the contacts with alcohol and slightly bend them down for better contact. Put it all back together (a drop of epoxy or superglue will reattach the plastic light switch cover to the 'rivets'), slap it back onto the steering column, plug it in and the problem should be solved. Its pretty easy to do, shouldnt take more than an hour start to finish.

My three biggest complaints:

1. Inconsistent idle

2. Steering wheel shake. Goes away, comes back. Goes away, comes back. New tires, rebalanced twice, one new wheel (the others professionally inspected twice), resurfaced brakes, etc. etc. etc. .....Keeps curing itself, then coming back. Two different 93's.. same problem......

3. Cheap seats. Who the hell were these made for? No support, crappy upholstery that wears holes everywhere, crappy foam, ugly seemless fabric.

Which, by the way is either your heat shield, or heat shield for the cat. I no longer have a heat shield on my headers, so I know its my cat. I'm not sure. It's possible that it may be just a relay for the starter's relay... but I just said "relay for the starter" and they got me the right part... which I ended up not even needing.

My little piece is long gone. Nowhere anywhere under that console. I've been looking thru junkyards to grab it, but the little plastic piece deamon seems to have struck many a 240.

yep...shaking @ 70 mph is bad (i blame it on my tires though)...

also, i have noticed poor idle conditions come back when i finish my gas tank (as in all the way down). I blame it on crud at the bottom plugging the injectors. If you have this problem, drop a bottle of seafoam when gas is empty, then fill w/10 bux, and never let it go beneath an /8th again. This has been working for me for many months now. Until recently when i finished the tank again :P

ps: thanks guyaverage...i'll try that.
