I am going N/A and I was kinda curious how much Hp/Torque does a stock 5 speed transmission hold. In other words should I just by a new stock replacement or should I go try and get some performance upgrades done? If I was to get upgrades or even just a performance transmission what would be the best place to go? Obviously, I am gonna get a good fywheel and a clutch.

All you need is a good flywheel and clutch. As for the HP/tq potential of the transmission dont worry about it.. It will die sooner in your hands vs putting to much power to it. Its a brick but like all things it can wear and weaken over time if not taken care of and maintained.

I wouldn't run anymore then 300hp through the stock transmission. So I wouldn't worry about it dieing becuase you are putting too much power through it. But it also depends on how many miles, because if you are going to completely rebuild your engine for N/A then still use the stock transmission that has like 180k miles on it. It would probably be wise to rebuild it.

I'm not really sure what your asking. But to clarify I was agreeing that the transmission would go out from old age and abuse from the user. Before you had to worry about how much power was being sent through it.

Oh ok I reread it and see what you are saying. I thought, or my first impression was, that you where saying you wouldnt put more then 300 into it, as if it wouldnt handle it.

I now see you where saying that, but only because it is used and dont know what kind of abuse / matenence was done to his current transmission. So to be safe untill a rebild or so, not to run more then that in its current form :)

I thought someone said that the RB transmission will drop in and can hold almost twice as much power as the KA's transmission.... ?
