lol, it sounds like the only tools youre going to need is a phone and the yellow pages to find a suitable shop to do it for you.

What do you want us to tell you? You need sockets, wrenches, pliers, manliness, a cherry picker, brains and a lot of patience. Jacks, jackstands, a place to do it, etc etc etc

well id like you guys to tell me parts ill need to adapt to fit and stuff like that... cuz telling me to call a good mechanic to install it for me isnt any help to me... i dont trust mechanics on big jobs like heads, clutch, transmission, and anything that takes more than an hour or two to do... so i definately wont trust a mechanic on an sr swap... this forums supposed to help me isnt it...

can someone at least tell me a good sr swap guide online? cuz all the info is all over the place like wiring, ka removal, and installing... instead of in one site

You do needa search, and NO no one is going to put it all in one spot for you, your going to have to search around a little and compile a list of pages that can show you what you need to do This will give you different perspectives, the SR swap is relatively simple but you can screw it up if you really dont pay attention or know anything about cars.

Search and then ask questions

Just figure it out as you go. Live and learn. And you got a pretty long way ahead if your not doin it for another 6 months.

i dont see why not trust a good shop to do it for you then you wont have to worry about it not working right sense you dont seem to know anything aobut doing a swap.

If a shop does it you usually have about a 30 day waranty. So if they did something wrong you would definatley know before the 30 days and get it fixed, fo free! Im not saying go to a shop but wherever you get the motor, if you decide to put it in yourself they usually take the waranty away so if it's a bad motor it's coming out of your pocket.

The wiring is basic and very easy, if you know how to solder.

Follow this write up:http://www.frsport.com/SR20DET....html

Don't trust a mechanic. You can do it yourself.Take your time on it. Use common sence. The swap is an easy bolt-up andplug-and-play.

well i was gunna buy the motor in 6 months and have it sit on and engine stand for like 3 months so that i can buy all the necessary supplies and get a diagnosis on the motor so that i know what i need to salvage on the Ka and buy an intercooler, radiator, water pump, clutch and so on...so my budget is around $2000-$2500

motor-$1200Supplies-$800

where you getting motor from? you wanna replace waterpump thermostat and oil pump for beginners. timing chain wouldnt hurt. motormounts. clutch for sure, 300zx fuel filter, new spark plugs. with that budget you might have to stay side mount right off the bat a upgrade later
