Any specific things I need to watch out for this engine?

Ok, just got a '91 240sx with 168k miles. Now the lifter's already bad on the car, but are there any specific things I should look out for this particular engine at this mileage? I'm not familiar at all with the ka24de, so I thought I'd ask here, thanks for any help.

Well all I can say is the KA is a pretty tough motor. By lifter I bet you mean the grinding or tapping noise from under the front of the valve cover. I believe 80%-90% it's just the timming chain guide and not the rockers... unless the previous owner ran it without oil for a while. Other then that perhaps change the O2 Sensor... easy way to get more miles to the gallon. Be more specific on what you want to know. If I'm wrong though correct me.

Ya, I'm getting a tapping noise from right under the valve cover... hopefully that's all that's wrong with it... how expensive it is to replace the timing chain?

i get the same kind of kreeking sound out of the front of my valve cover. should i worry or is this common

Mine isn't exactly a creeking noise, it sounds more like there's a steel ball that's being knocked around in there.
