any shops in the bay area to do a transmission swap?

I am really looking forward to get a auto-manual swap. I can get the transmission from a 93 w/about 90k miles on it and properly maintained. I can pick it up with all the parts because hes a good friend of mine. I am looking for a shop in the bay area to know how much it would be to do this because I couldn't do it myself since i know not that much about cars. I have some money and I don't want to spend more than 1200 but let me know any shops that are good and not too pricey. I really want a 5 spd b/c an auto is soooooooo boring. Help out a fellow 240 driver trying to get a car that is made for a 5 spd because I would love to know because an auto sucks.

Are you under a time constraint and are you sure that you can get all the parts? My buddies and I are finishing a SR swap which was switched from AT to MT. Which part of SF are you in if you don't mind me asking.

no I don't have a time constraint and I can wait b/c I have another car to drive around if it is in the shop. My friends transmission is straight from a 240 and I am sure he has all of the parts, I am not sure if he has everything and if he doesn't I can pick it up in a junkyard. anyways I live on the peninsula in the great city of San Mateo. Anyways let me know and thanx for the quick reply.

Well I've gotta ask a few things first. #1 is the clutch still good? #2 are you familiar with driving a standard transmission? Are you guys both with/without LSD (changes driveshaft length hence my asking)?

I have a friend in San Fransisco who does at-manual swaps he is ASE certified and does good work, has a turboed Maxima, RX7 and a 89 fastback sitting down the street he is located in South City

I am located in San Mateo. How much do you think he would cost? I need a driveshaft and pedals also. I am on a open diff and I don't have a 5 spd car but I've driven a couple cars and am familiar w/driving a manual transmission. I have taken out my bros camaro and I did perfect w/o stalling. B&C auto just did my transmission swap. concord cal. did pedals, clutch master and slave. ASE CERTIFIED. good guys.
