basically i want the best of all (not both) worlds, a daily driver, reliable, and something that's fairly unique, and kicks ***.

i really like how the S14/MCS14 or S15 the way they look and they are even more desireable due to limited numbers, and it would be just a very tasteful car to have if it can run with all the new bad asses (300hp+ cars) however, i will not go out of my way to satisfy myself just to have a car that's gonna sit in the garage more than being driven.

it would be great to see if tuners actually back up their work by selling already modded S14. i do see every now and then there are some modded S14 by sale by private parties, but you always wonder the reliability issues...

I doubt anyone would sell an already modded S14 with an SR or a RB for very cheap, unless they got the engine for a great deal...so you're going to be paying out the *** for something like that I think. Reliability issues come with every used car, if you're worried about it not working, or breaking down, get a new car and live on a warranty.

You wont find many/anyone knowledgeable about just putting money down and getting a modded car in return. People here actually get their hands dirty.

i am sorry that my post was snobbish, i apologize for that. I am sorry. here's a little about myself, hopefully it'll clear a few things.

I owned a 95' 240sx, that had greddy cat back, koni custom springs and shock/struts, body kit, wires, caps, intake, carbon fiber dash kit, custom band pass, panasonic stereo setup, etc. these are very mediocre mods, however, i consider my self a "car enthusiast". if not, after the 240sx, i purchase a brand new 00' audi S4, i moded it with full coilover, custom intake, stage 1 giac x-chip, hardwired radar, defi hud boost gauge w/ timer, bailey bpv, samco tbb, fuel kill switch, lip spoiler, rear deflector, reinstalled bandpass with seperate amp on a stock bose system mounted in trunk w/ no drill holes. on the S4 i've done all the work myself besides the chip.

i do get my hands "dirty", however, there are just different choices we make. I put in more than 50 hours per week towoards a full time job, I also have a variety of hobbies that are time demanding. I know all of you are busy just like me, however, i choose not to spend my "car enthusiast" time on fixing, repairing, upgrading, or whatever on the car, instead i chose to drive an already prepared machine IF i choose the 240 again. that's why i am trying to take short cuts.

why? because i have a wedding to plan for, career move pending. i am simply getting too busy to be buying a 240sx and call it a project car and put a sr20det on it.

i know installing a sr20det is not an easy task like many toss around the term "swap" as if its swapping a GSR into a civic. sure, you can swap it, but i don't end there, i set my goal as previously mentioned to compete against modern 300hp+ cars and has to be reliable enough to be a daily driver. so rather looking at a headache for atleast 6 months, i was hoping to find my short cut on here for a higher price tag.

i am very glad that this forum is doing very well with all the ppl participating. and that a snobbish post like mine was not ignored. now, lets get our voices heard so hopefully we can find a tuner shop out there that can do what i've asked. thanks guys. :ylsuper

If I could afford it I would never again buy a car that wasn't in turnkey condition. I like getting my hands dirty working on the car but the time and hassle that goes into rebuilding a car and dealing with all the people that WILL try to screw you over, dealing with the delays for parts etc. is just too much. I am so sick of my car it's not even funny but I'm sure it'll be kinda worth it whenever it runs. Until then I'm still going to be pissed off though!
