On my quest to find wheels i'm currently considering a couple sets that i am unsure about looks and fitment with. I want 17" wheels at least 9" wide with an concave face that will clear coilovers, i just don't want to murder my fenders to make them fit.

I am currently considering two choices.

Rota P45R 17X9 +25mm offset on all 4 corners

or

5Zigen FN01R-C 17X10 +12mm offset on all 4 corners

I've seen plenty on S14's with 10" FN's in the rear and 9" in front but never 10" on all 4 corners. I've also seen S14's with the P45r's in 18" with a lower offset but not in 17" with the 25mm offset.

Is anyone rolling either of these two wheels all around? If so, post pics and share the fitment info!

I already looked through that thread and did a search for both wheels i'm interested in but didn't find pics or info on them. That is the only reason i made this post.

Thanks but that is the same info i already found in my searching before i made this post. The thing is, i love the look of the P45R's but the ONLY sizes they are available in for a 5 lug is 17X9 +25 and 17X9.5 +30.

Thats right, those are the only sizes! Check the Rota stocks if you'd like to see http://www.rotawheel.com/AVAILABILITY.htm

18's are a possibility but i'd rather not use a heavier wheel than i need to. I did email Rota about new sizes and offsets for 2009 they have listed on their site but they haven't got back with me yet.

Anyone else have some input on either of these wheels?

If your 5-lug you should have no problems finding some wheels that fit.

5 chickens 17x10 +12 WILL need to pull the fenders to make them fit.

Rota P45R 17x9 +25 most likely will have coilover issues and will probably need spacers to clear.

You could look into MB wheels...

I called Rota today looking for "plain silver" and they didnt have any. I want a staggered look in 17x7.5 and 17x9 rears. I do not want any other wheel size combo at all.

It will take 2 months to do, but they can do it.

What is the perfect offset to get? ...while im at it I might as well get the offsets I want

Thanks

P45R's aren't offered in 7.5 width. Are you referring to P45F, maybe? P45F's come in 17x7.5 with 4x114.3 offsets in +12, +25 and +45. +12 would be the least lame of the three, IMO.

P45R's are available in 17x9+12 now as well. That would probably be best for such a wack setup.

17 x 7.5 5 x 114.3 +45 17 x 8 5 x 114.3 +32

http://rotawheels.com/wheels.asp?wheelid=31

17 x 9 5 x 114.3 +30 17 x 9 5 x 114.3 +25

I dont see the offsets you found. Also I have a 5 lug. These are off of rotas website

So the lower the offset the better?

I need to understand two things in order to help:

- Why do you want to run a skinny 7.5 up front?-What tire sizes do you want to be running at each corner?

I like the staggered look with 7.5 up front. On both of my E36 M3's I had 225/45/17(7.5) and 245/40/17 (8.5) rears. I was also staggered on both of my 911's and my last 04 M3 with LM's. I dont like the way 17x9s all around look.

With the P45's I will run 7.5's with 225/45/17 and with the 9's I will run 255/40/17. Thanks

Wow that is going to look terrible. 7.5inch P45F's don't come in low offsets for 5 lug cars, so if you're on coilovers, those wheels are a no go for you. If you aren't on coils, the offsets aren't gonna matter. Try the 17x8+32.

For the rear, 17x9+30 P45R.

Yeah I wasnt going to do coilovers. I was going to go with koni/eibach prokit.

I dont want an aggressive ride or drop, rather have a smooth comfortable one even if it sits a little higher.

what if I throw on a spacer? wont that help the "look"?

I personally don't advocate the use of spacers. I mean, why not just buy wheels that fit right in the first place? P45R's come in plenty of sizes that will look great on your car. I would just copy Skilz10179's setup and run 235/40 and 255/40.

The reason I don't like the idea of running 7.5 inch wheels is that they will all be high offset and therefore will be sunken into your wheel wells, which looks terrible. Also, it is possible to fit 10 inch wide wheels on the front of an 240 with stock fenders. 7.5 is soooo far beneath the capability of this car.

The wider wheel you have, the more tire you can run and thus the more traction you'll get. Good traction upfront results in better handling. A staggered 235/40 & 255/40 setup will be very nice. It's a nice subtle stretch, not to much & it won't balloon making your wheels look like donuts. Or you can run all the same sizes wheels at each corner so you can rotate your tires.

hmmm but wont it look ugly if I run koni/eibach pro kit which is a mild drop? also, i think he rolled his fenders which I really dont want to do.

but maybe with the mild drop it wont need to be rolled? but will still look like a 4x4?

He rolled his fenders because he has coilovers. You won't be that low, so you won't need to roll.

I have the same springs you're planning on getting. It won't be 4x4, but it won't look near as good as Skillz...

Anyways, Z33 05+ wheels. 18x8.5+33 with 225/40/18 all around. Spring and strut setup with no spacers.

And? Whats the problem? Patience is a virtue, man. Order 'em and chill. From what I've heard, Rota has stellar customer service. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Ill def order them, the only thing that scares me is that the guy said they have to have 30 sets ordered to put the color through.
