Any rumors on 2008 M update? (i.e. M37 + new transmission?)

The salesperson informed me that there might be an update to the M coming out fall of this year for MY08 and possible changes include implementing the engine with 330hp found on G37 coupe and a new transmission with an OD gear, as well as a facelift on the interior. Has anyone else heard similar rumors?

I'd be disappointed to purchase an M in the next month just to find out about these updates. Extra hp is always good and the improved fuel efficiency wouldn't hurt either. I personally also don't find the location of the A/V input to be logical, but that's just my opinion.

If they really put in the new engine in there with 330hp, it'd be interesting to see what they'd do for the V8. It would really be a strong contender against 550i and E550; however, it wouldn't matter to me since I'm only considering AWD.

Argh I want to buy the car within the next month though!

Well I havent followed up with any new products lately so I dont know what their plans are for future models or upgrades but that would be nice. But I still cant see them going up against a MB though. BMtroubleUs are crap as far as Im concerned and the people that drive them are usually snobby ***holes, lol. Hold out for the car that you want, you wont regret it.Cheers

Coming from an MB C230K and a CLK320... I can assure you their quality is crap, I'd rank BMW higher than MB actually... I haven't owned a bimmer myself but I know some people that do and they absolutely love them. Let's try to keep an open mind and not stereotype the owners yeah?

The thing is I don't even know if it's just a rumor or if it's true. Anybody else???

An OD gear would be nice on the M, would probably have to swap transmissions if this rummor is true. And MB's suck, a friend of mine has driven them since the 80's and sold his last 80's model in the mid-90s w/only 40k miles on it! He always said he would rather put the miles on his Bentley, which is sad to say. As for BMW I never had any problems with the x5 4.4 or the 3 series my brother let me drive alot, I use to jump hills and tracks with the x5 lol and nothing ever broke. Any lexus with the 2jzge is perfect IMO since I've never owned one with the new engines (the new GS is smaller inside though). And my brother says that Jaguar sucks, he got rid of his S-Type-R the same week he bought it! Even though I do love the styling on it. As for Lincoln, we got rid of the Navigator after 6mths. 3000k miles into ownership the rear axle broke and I never jumped anything in that car considering it was huge!

Now lets pray the M35/45 gets another gear lol it would be great for the longer highway trips!D.
