anybody ever used this tire? tirerack reviews don't really say that much and this is the ONLY tire that comes in the size i want to run up front. i've checked online tire stores and most of the manufacturer websites (us and other countries) and there is nothing else in this size, continentals us site doesn't even show it but the german site does. maybe it's not dot rated but tirerack sells it so whatever.

use would be drift/street maybe road course eventually, i could run another size but that would mean more stretch and more total diameter (0.7-1.1") which would make a huge difference in clearance up front. the taller tires would be a lot cheaper and i'd actually have a choice in what to run but the height really concerns me.

it'll be paired with nankang ns2 or hankook k104 rears (cause they're stupid cheap ) so as long as the contis grip better than those i guess it'll be ok. the contis are like 240 a piece so i really don't want to fork out the cash and then find out they're crappy

Ouch - $240 each?

I have had them on my Q, right after I lowered it. They were fine - nothing to get excited over, but no issues either.

255/30/18 on 18x11 right?

and thats going up front on your coupe? i wanna see pics when theyre on

tires look decent from tire rack stuff...they dont score too well in ride quality and such, which combined with their decent scores in class in dry grip means theyre probably pretty good, going off the basis of other tires that are more well known

no personal experience here though

grip is really all that matters but i do hope they last a little while, probably gonna need -3+ camber.

i've got 3 sets of retarded size 18's in my garage and 30 series is the only way to get the total diameter/clearance i want

18x11, 18x12 work emitz18x10, 18x12 amistad type d18x11, 18x13 weds kranze cerberus

yes, i'm stupid. rear fitment should be pretty easy, fronts gonna be a ***** especially if i have to run a 25" tire

No offense, and I think you already know this, but if cared one bit about "grip" you'd be running a wheel that actually fits properly.

I think some of the low-end tire manufacturers make some odd sizes too - make sure to type the size into Google and see what pops up, you might be surprised.

Traditionally(ie, not looking at wear rating) the Continentals will grip better than nankangs or hankooks in the tire and wheels size ranges mentioned.

The Contisport are / were oem fit on a few german cars. Hitman's description of neither high nor low praise is about accurate from what feedback i've gathered from customers.

I'm lost on the grip issue though. Max grip comes from higher priced faster wearing tires, not larger section width, period. Keep in mind that you could do a basic (anything narrower) staggered package and swap paying more because of the size with paying more for better gripping, faster wearing tires.

Those came stock on my 05' Dodge Magnum RT. 235/55/18. Decently grippy tire, but I got less then 32k miles out of them. FYI, they have a "slime" sealant inside the tire for small punctures.
