Is it just me or does their page contents almost identically match those of Hot Import performance.....? was looking at hip's kit acouple weeks ago and looked like a perfect setup but now this boost evo page is making me kinda iffy on either company. Anyone talked or ordered anythign from either of them?

yeah the exhaust pic seems to be the same and the intercooler and mani seem to be the same. The only thing I say different was the turbo, the fuel injectors, rail and maf- never mind same as there "stage 2" now I'm scratching my head

I think the only differences i've seen was boost said they used 2.5inch intercooler piping, and hip uses 2inch. They both look like great kits as the companies are not out to scam or do shotty work. I'm definatly eyeing up that stage 2 kit from boost.

Well, I can't say they don't make a good argument. Sounds like a decent bolt on kit to me. I would like to see the mani close up though.

a company finally appears to make a affordable and looks to be quality kit, but hmmmmm:( TurboKa make sure to keep us posted on hips excuses and if you do end up getting it, tell me about the quality of the welds, instructions and such.

i will keep you updated. its a shame but i think im going to end up canceling my payment. i was really looking foward to this kit too. the guy who runs the site has a full time job as well as the site but if he expects to sell kits he'll have to treat his customers better than i was treated.

I was reading over boost evolutions site alil more tonight and came across them saying that their kit was being reviewed by Turbo Magazine and Primedia Inc., also they are a part of a forum called nissantech.com I might send them an email and give them a call and see if they sound like a legitmate and trustworthy business, and if they know anythign about hip's site looking identical, inventory wise.

Looks identical to the HIP kit, except a tiny bit cheaper, at least for the stage 3 (didn't look at the others). Hope they are reputable and hope they don't jack up the price if their kit really does get featured in a mag.

Ok, tonight i was able to have a nice long and pretty in depth conversation with Eugene, the owner of Boost evolution. We talked for about 2 hours, and after rattling off lots of questions and concerns about hip looking identical it seems to boil down to this.Boost evolution was selling parts to whoever runs hip, pretty much being a distributor for them. Hip used boost evolutions pictures and info from there site without permission, therefore thats why they look so similar. Even though Hip's and boosts kits look the same in the pictures Hip's are not what's pictured, Boost makes their own manifolds, downpipes and fuel rails, which hip doesn't use (i'm guessing they are going through another manufacturer for theirs) Boost evolution is very much aware now of the similarities between the sites, have had much unproper critiscm directed towards them due to it.Eugene at boost evolution seems to be a very nice person and wants his buisness to thrive on having great customer support, and i believe they do. I'm not sure how many other companies would carry over there customer support when the shop closes down for the day. It was 11pm his time tonight when he had to log off to go get some sleep. Also for anyone intrested they are located in Greensville SC and he said that anyone that wants to ask questions feel free to contact them over aim, email, or there phone number. I know this kinda sounds like a marketing ploy but I just wanted to voice my opinion on this situation, and after talking to Eugene boost evolution seems to be a worth while company. On a side note he had said that once they recieve payment that the kit should be recieved in 5-7 days depending where your located and if ups ground is on schedule. So turboka if you do not immediatly recieve your kit and its not up to par, i would retract payment/ or return the kit and talk to eugene at boost about what happened. Ok I'm done wrambling for now hope this sorta cleared some stuff up concerning the misconceptions between hip and boost evolution.

i think im going to have to do that. the guy at HIP has blown me off and lied to me. its been 42 days since ive ordered the kit and hes been telling me it has been shipped for the last month. considering the boost evolution kit has almost the same components as HIP, it will be easier than completly changing turbo plans. HIP must be located near boost evolution because i know he is located in SC as well. thanks for the info MECPInstaller.

wtf niether hip or boostevolution returns my emails and now I see this http://www.boostdesigns.com/stage3.htm its the same stuff only higher with no e-manage. not same pics though and they are in florida. So number one I really doubt all these guys make the manifolds. they are all in knock off boxes. so if turboka ever gets his or somebody can vouche for the quaility of what I now belive to be mass produced knock offs

got my answer about hip on another board

I bought a $2,500 turbo kit from him and he ripped me off. The site lists to allow two weeks for processing before shippment. I took over a month for my stuff to come it and it was missing parts. It has been over 3 full months almost 4 now and I still do not have everything. He kept giving me excuses on why it was taking so long and now he hasn't returned any of my e-mails in weeks. Not only was there the delays in shipping but he did not ship and ripped me off on a Z32 maf sensor w/air filter, a 3" down pipe, oil feed and return lines, all the nessisary vacume lines, and e-mangage support software. Also the flange he sent me for the turbo down pipe is cheeply made and lines up poorly the bolt holes just bearly match up and the exhaust hole is a 1/4 or and in off to the left making it unusable so now I have to buy another one. He kept promising to hook me up with any other parts i buy for his cost but I wouldnt' risk buying anything from him again. Who knows if he'll just keep the money and ship me nother or not everything I ordered. Don't be scammed

^^ im in the same boat with this guy. basically he blew me off with excuse after excuse for a month and a half after ordering and a day after i get my credit card company to cancel payment he gives me the tracking # for stuff he shipped. the stuff he shipped arrived yesterday and it was missing over half the stuff i ordered and had different parts than i ordered. he sent the manifold, turbo, lines & fittings, BOV (USED!! i bought it new), 3 injectors, intercooler, and also a clutch but i asked him for the ACT xtreme clutch kit and he sent me a clutch not even made by ACT. what was missing: any gaskets/bolts/most harware, intercooler piping/coupler, emanage & support tool, fuel rail, 1 injector, 300zx MAF, air filter, turbo timer, wastegate, downpipe, and probably more stuff i missed. needless to say im pissed off and i'm sending this stuff back to him since i already cancelled my payment last week. i do not recommend anyone ordering from him. i went into this being the lab rat for this kit so i hope i helped those of you thinking about ordering this kit.
