Im looking to get a wideband setup and im looking to spend at max around $300

I just got this 96 TT the other day and i can tell its burning rich, the HKS hi power is coverd in black carbon, its been ran at stock boost, 2 HKS BOV,

The last owner deleted the whole EGR system, do you think that could affect the mixture at all ?
its throwing a check engine light for the missing EGR can runs great im just worried about messing it up if im boosting too rich

I asked a similar question on another forum and a very knowledgeable member posted this....

"i suggest a more advanced wideband like Zeitronix, AEM, and innovate, they have loggable outputs that can be linked into your laptop and or Nistune for map plot tracing. 1badzx, your prosport gauge is crap it has no output and its not self calibating. soory just being honest.

i personally use and push Zeitronix because of its built in features to log TPS RPM from the stock ECU and add on boost, egt, air or water temp, and a user input. It also will display in lambda with no conversions for alternative fuel tuning.

you get what you pay for with wideband systems.

Non wideband gauges (that tap into stock o2sensors signal) are pointless and trash"

hope it helps.

what do you think the wide band will do to fix the problem? if you have a programable ecu you can take it to your local dyno who will have a wideband to use for tuning, other than tuning the wideband has no function, I use the innvate LC1 but it's tied into my megasquirt for datalogging
