Any reason to not use a purge valve to control a diy 2-stage boost controller?

I'm looking to put together a two stage boost controller similar to dawes devices' (now 3bar racing). heres a pic

I have all the parts except the solenoid, the most expensive piece. The cheapest I can find sells for around $45 but i think its overkill at 150psi rating since i'll only hit 15ish max. I have a few evap purge control valve laying around so i was thinking maybe i could just use one of those. basically all it would be doing is redirecting air to a second boost controller Anyone ever tried it?

I'll post pics/part #'s once it's done if anyone is interested

this is the "boost controller" part of it:

$9 pressure relief valve from grainger, part number 5z763. same valve dd uses. you have to take it apart and switch the ball bearing to the other end of the spring (side with red, male threads) and add two barb nipples to convert it to a mbc. twist to adjust. Its good to 20psi

the other parts are just brass fittings from your local hardware store, vacumm hose, the solenoid, and a switch to control it.

i'll draw something up once i get it going

hey man i wonder if you could use a electric valve like off trucks air bags. You cang et a quarter inch one for like 30 bucks and even cheaper used. No one really likes quarter inch or even three eigths really anymore. If you hooked it up to a switch it should stay open as long as the switch is switched. On trucks and cars the switch returns to the middle and it shuts the valve or however you want to call it. I may could just use something like that.

a smc 1/4th inch new from suicidedoors.com is 29 bucks. Just a thought because it is new and all. I think you may have a great idea here. Let me know what you find.

sorry, i havent replied, im still working on sourcing some parts.

I actually found a cheaper 3 way solenoid from grainger that seems to work well. it's made by ingersol randall, i trust their products. It's $25 and looks better too. product #6JJ52

heres a crude mspaint sketch of how it'll be setup:

pretty basic, huh? total cost will be the same as a turboxs or other name brand single mbc. and thats for two fully adjustable boost settings, you could use just one "boost controller" and leave the stock, wg controlled boost for the other, save another $10 :P
