Most of you know my setup by now. I was thinking of a few things today

As long as the AFR's and timing are in the right spots should i be worried about running high boost with race gas?

Standalones have more control, to me it seems in more precise adjustments from more tunning points to individual cylinder tuning.

If my timing stays right around 17 degrees and my AFR's are in the mid 11's for street gas and mid 12's off pump gas should i be worried until i max out my injectors? basically see how much i can get out of it?

exactly. it just depends on how much HP you are looking for but like we talked about, 400 rwhp would definitely be pushing your current fuel setup.

as long as total timing stays where it is, and your air fuel ratios are 11:1-12.5:1, then with race gas at the track you will be fine. you have all the monitoring devices to make sure so dont sweat it.

i understand why you are skeptical because the higher and higher the boost goes, it seems like you are going to blow something up. you just gotta try it out and get comfortable with it.

there will be a stopping point for you though if you try to push your setup any further due to limitations of SAFC on stock ecu with 550cc injectors. so either leave it where its at, run high 11s easily or dump more money into a different setup and continue the process forever. lol. sorry for being so cynical. haha

I know exactly what you mean

Im keeping the setup as is for the next week until it gets garaged. Just have to get to the track one more time. After the winter will be the debate on what kind of management to go with

I was wondering this too...couldn't find a writeup of your setup anywhere, but I did see a mention of 9:1 CR so I doubt it.

I diagnose you with a case of the boost bug. Get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, and drive nothing but slow cars for the next 3 months or so.

Let us know how it goes!

Sweet deal, built engines are nice. I feel as if I should be given free Ross pistons since my name is Ross, but no one else agrees....

mike - thats exactly what i will be doing. after i go to the track this week, run 11's, drive home, my car will be garaged until feburary at the earliest. ill be driving the 4.0L 180hp 93 jeep grand cherokee i bought this month til then

ross - jsut to tell you how lucky i was is that i bought the engine for $1300, put it in and had perfect compression striaght across with no nasty knocks or taps
