The "1.6" did have speakers and wiring harness inside it. Sound pretty good too when you turn down the bass. I didn't realize it had a non-standard plug for the antennae so I just stuck a piece of wire inside the plug going to the back of the radio and it worked fine. Taped it up so hopefully I wont have to open the dash again. Even if I could have wait for the antennae adapter, they run $25.. what a rip.
So basically this is what you if you want to do what I did: Smack the top dash panel with a pair of clammy hands, yank back towards you. Dry hands wont give you enough traction. There isn't really anywhere to grab. Its 90% backward 10% upward in motion to get it off. So don't worry about the upward part of it. Then you will see the two Phillips head screws to get the front panel off. Unplug the two plugs for the hazard switch and the airbag light. The airbag light has a little white plastic clip over the plug that you need remove before you unplug it. I don't know why. It doesn't even look like you need it afterward, but I put it back on anyway. Then there are four Phillips head screws to get the blank block of plate off. Take that plate and throw it in the trash. Take your "install kit" screw in your radio of choice. Plug up your radio harness, antennae wire and ground to one of the four screws when you put it in the dash. Then do the beginning steps in reverse. Bam, you're done.
