Has anybody used this yet with their cell phone? Does it work well? How is the voice recognition? Thanks, Landon

Hey, just got the handsfree setup on my versa. As far as the voice recognition its suprisingly good. It has a feature to where you can go through a series of tests and it will adapt to your voice characteristics. I was told by my family members that I called from the car, that it was kind of hard to hear me, like I was on speaker phone. But that is to be expected.

I have used the bluetooth. It is good, you just have to speak real well when on the phone. I didn't have to go through a setup with my voice recognition. It worked right from the start. I love the intelligent key system. it rocks.

I'm using a Verizon RAZR v3m with the Bluetooth in my Versa and it works great. I will echo what has been said, speak loudly and clearly when moving.

has anyone had any problems with their bluetooth system? when I was in Denver this weekend I was making full use of my system especially since i have the 6 speed, its impossible to shift and talk on the phone in Denver traffic, any way back to the topic;I hit the little phone button on the steering wheel and gave it a number to dial and told it to dial, she said, "dialing" and then it just stopped the cd-player didn't turn on and there was no ringing, i checked my phone and it wasn't even showing that is was dialing either. so i tried to hit the 'source' button and the 'phone' button to get it to hang up and it didnt respond. I had to get off the interstate and shut the car off to get it to stop saying 'telephone' in the stereo display. after that it started to work fine. thanks for hearing/reading me vent. just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

Bluetooth is another wonderful RF device. If your signal gets disrupted (in your case, probably by environmental interference), it will also disrupt the pairing between the phone and the car. They will both think they are connected, but won't be. You suffered a mild case... you simply had to shut your car off and turn it back on again. On mine, I had to disable the bluetooth on my phone and turn it back on (after turning the car off).

This has happened only once since I bought the car, so it's super-sporadic.

Works fine here. Treo 650 (ROW unlocked GSM version) has been happily working with it.

I purchased a Versa and have drived 4000 miles. I have had a rear window shatter while driving at 65 miles per hour. The bluetooth has "never" worked. (It works while the car is still once the car is moving the reciever of the car can hear a word). The low pressure light turns on every 1000 miles.

I talked with Nissan service the 800 number and they push me to bluetooth support who send me back to nissan with the answer that it's broken and nissan has no plan to fix it. Finally Nissan said that a regional specialist would call me within 24 hours. Well 36 hours later I called them and the answer no is we'll call you when we call you. These are options I paid for, options that they feture in commercials what a line they are feeding people.

Another issue is the tire pressure light it turns on every 1200 miles, the dealer has never found anything wrong with the system. But did tell me that Nissan has had a big problem with this. Again for this I am waiting for a phone call from the regional specialist.

Don't get me wrong I like the fuel economy and the room. But what else is wrong with this car. I really want Nissan to fix the issues, refund my money for these options or take the car back. Having lived with this car for several months and long road trips, I would be happy with it if I didn't feel ripped off. As of now I hate the car and Nissan.

I merged the two bluetooth threads. No sense in having to jump back and forth between the two of them.

Meanwhile, can anyone lend out very distraught friend some Bluetooth help?

based on his description of the problem, he's probably got an issue with the pick-up mic. Not something he can fix on his own.

(Of course, I'm a computer tech, not a car mechanic, so I may be wrong)

My Bluetooth works fine, it is the dang TPMS issue that I concur on!! Mine is back on again and the air pressure is fine. Come to think of it, mine has gone around 1000 to 1200 miles between hiccups!! Wonder if there is anything to the mileage deal?

So the only problem I have been having with the BLuetooth is that when I tell it to dial a certian # it does do it, this happens 1 out of 10 times I use the system.

Regarding the TPMS I have had NO problems with this system and have 3100 miles on it. I have read many posting that people are having problems so far I have not.

The only problem I had was nothing from nissan themselves, but the driver side fllor mat broke (at the ring, that holds it in place) and took the dealer a week to me a replacement, they replaced all 4 of my floor mats.

I just wish I got better MPG with the car, I'm avering 27...

That's pretty funny. The Treo 650 is the trickiest phone to pair up with any kind of Bluetooth (whether in a car or with a headset). If it can pair up with the Versa with no problem, then I'm sure 95% of all the other Bluetooth-compatible phones out there will work fine with the Versa.

They finally contacted me the regional specialist after 3 days of waiting and he said that within this week I'll have and answer to the problem. I to me sounds as if I have a mic problem but the real problem I see now is trying to get someone from Nissan to fix the issue. The 800nissan number wants to push the call off to the Bluetooth help line while they can only help with the pairing of the phone. They after noting that I have paired the phone push the call back to the call center and they again want to push it back to the bluetooth line. After going through this several times over several days I posted this blog and told the dealer and region specialist that NY has a lemon law. That after 3 attempts to fix a problem the car can be returned. If I have to return the car I'm getting a Yaris. The service from the Nissan dealer, the 800 number and the regional specialist is sub-par.

Bluetooth works AMAZING. Crystal clear. Maybe a little quiet for the person receiving the call but awesome.

I am on your side, my bluetooth works fine, but the other people have no problem hearing me as well. I paired it with my Nokia 6280.

VERSA FTW!!
