Ive just put a RB20DET into a VL Commodore just finished tonight and went to start it. It cranks over and wants to start but wont fire, seems to be getting fuel but havent checked for spark or anything yet. Just thought id ask here and see what you guys thing. I crushed and broke my ignitor so mayb that could be why im waiting on a new one to come?

Any other ideas?

Thanks Damo!!!

try unplugging the MAFS and cranking it over, other than that Id say the ignitor is your best bet.

i was having the same issues with my rb20det. i would rule out spark plugs being fouled because all you really need is a couple of them to get fired up. on top of what the guys said before about the chip itsself, i would also recheck all of your ign. relay wiring. my issue was that the ign. relay wasnt recieving 12v when the key was at the start position. if this is the case with you, your starter will crank but sparks wont come even if your ignitor is good. plus ive seen cracked ignitors work before. check ignition wires!!

Ive found i havent hooked up the black/green Cranking signal wire from the RB20DET loom plug? But i dont no where to find it theres heaps of plugs on my loom? hopefuly thats the problem would it be?

Thanks Damo!!!!

How embarasing i went and has a look on my R32 loom and no it didnt have those two green relays, so i checked my R31 loom and it had the two green relays so i took them and put them in the R32 loom, connected battery and cranking engine over and it started straight away. Cant believe a stupid mistake like that hey.

Oh well thats not too bad tho i wired up the loom myself so had to exspect somethnig to go wrong but not a stupid thing like forgetting relays?

Thanks alot guys for your help, problem is now fixed, so thanks guys?
