To any and all ca18det owners ,

ok i have the Motor in as many know, i have a IC hooked up using PVC pipe it works to start it !! , the ECU was wired previously by a shop mechanic and ran over 2k in another car in america a 91 hatch ! well since i put her into my 90 hatch i havent been able to get it to run properly !! it has a brown harness connector that comes from the ecu and main harness that connects under the dash board, if this isnt pluged in it wont runn!! well the 90 hatch had a white connector there i took out the white one and put all the wires that matched in color into a brown connector from the 92 hatch ! i have about 5 wires not connected from the 90 hatch, will any of those run ant important sensors on the hood>>???? the motor doesnt like to rev at all when pushing the gas it backfires an stumbles !! when you let of the gas completely it will die off imediatly ! could it be a bad, TPS idle air control valce or the AAVC thing we unpluged the thing on the intak mani that had a greenish cylinder on it, and no change to the motor while holding it at a certain rev point ! i think the 02 sensor it blown its smoking while the car is running !! but the damn thing is stuck in there and anyone with a Ca knows what im talking about ~ i know the timming is still off a couple degrees but this idle problemn has us stumbed right now !! what could it be >>???????

thanks Jon

If you ever find out how those other five wires connect could you post it. I'm having the same problem as you with that white to brown harness connector.

I haven't even tried to start it yet. I wanted to get the wiring straight first. Sorry. I found this though. I'm still trying to figure the diagram out. http://www.users.bigpond.com/w...x.zip

BUMP !!

ok well i could have sworn i posted this lastnight but mayber i washallucinating with sleep depravation, but here it is i got the motor to run, but wont Idle, once it warmed up it would respond better to the reving, i even took her for a short drive !!! but we had no brakes so turned it around an parked it, fixed the brakes and now the car wont start again !! the plugs are fouled out, and its a weak spark !! im going to try new NGK plugs this time, and im hooking up a Vacum line into my intake track that i was told operates the AAC valve, is this valve actualy activated by vacumn if it is this could be my fix !!!

exciting, the motor was slugish because the timming isnt spot on yet, cant get the timming light to work ~ , it was detonating at higher rpms we think, i have unknown octance fuel in the tank so that and timming would be why ! its faster then my Ka24e 240sx even wih not being able to push it! the clutch that was in it was a aftermarket its so sticky that itll be awhile till im used to it !even that little turbo pulls pretty good at stock boost! cant wait till i get to drive it with the new turbo and FMIC and boosted some!!!!

yeah it is, every time i get somthing to work somthing else comes up and stalls me !! no i have to take my greddy IC pipes in to get flanges welded on to it for the vacumn lines and i have to get a hot pipe made and maybe a custom 3" intake pipe !!, then the bumper will go on and time to tear off the exhaust manifold an mount up the new turbo! and onto the fuel pump upgrade! between this and work i dont have time to sleep !
