No it's not a T3, don't waste your time with a CT26, it's to big on the hot side for a CA.

I know nothing about the Supra's, why is this? Who manufactured this turbo? What does the "C" prefix stand for? Sometimes I think I need to broaden my horizions. I know way to much about Nissans and practically nothing about anything else.

mkIII CT26 ~equivalent to a T3. Most popular upgrade for the supra guys is a 60-1 compressor, with a clipper turbine wheel. I think they can make over 400hp. Lotsa turbo info on mk3 forums. Its a heavy unit - support brace recommended. Big too, so u may have fun fitting it.Hotside housing is somewhat bigger. comes on a bit late, but more linear than a hard hitting small turbo. Makes same sense as putting on a 20G or t4 etc... many prefer the power characteristics. A custom header will definitely help spool. Ford 2.3 and z31 T3s are the choice for custom turbo setups locally. Even with 0.63 hotsides, I've seen 'em work great on 1.6 to 2.0L

having struggled with trying to crossfit OE turbos let me suggest DON'T DO IT. In this day and age of economical aftermarket turbos that outperform and outlast OEM junkyard gems it just isn't worth the headache. I did it because I had to, I don't have to anymore so I don't.

The reason I asked that question, is because It is not that I want to put that turbo on my car, that thing is as heavy as my engine lol, but because I am custom making an exhaust manifold for a t3 turbo, but I don't have a T3 turbo for the dimension, but I end up buying a T3 flange to know its dimensions and borrowed my buddy's spare T3 turbo for couple of days.

Thank you all for you input.

Thanks,

Turbonetics sells the weld flanges for the T3, just buy one of those, they are like $30.00.

z31 t3 has a 0.63a/r hotside. Many of the fords do, except for svo and merkurs (0.48) - can't remember which is, auto vs stick. The ford 60 compressor is actually a good unit.... 300whp capableEveryone around here starts of with a $100-150 junkyard turbo on a custom manifold + a safc + msd btm + injectors. I've only seen one turbo fail in a short time, and u definitely can't match the thrills per dollar. If/when it expires, stick a new $2-250 cartridge in and let the fun commence. These are some really quick daily driven 4cyls that light up the tires in 2nd or 3rd, on spoolup. On slicks plus a 50shot, they set u back in the seat pretty hard... quite a rush. They spank cars the got no business outrunning, for such a small cash outlay.

it's all fun and games until your engine sucks up the detrius of your blown "bargain" turbo. Don't do it if you don't have to.

Now recommend a good one for a custom ka24det. I virtually know nothing about turbo sizes, and even less their variances from manufacturer.

By all means, get all new stuff if ya can, but this "junkyard boost" is pretty much a way of life around here. Results are unquestionable. As said, no such problems with these setups. If the turbo boosted fine before the wreck, why wouldn't it after ? and who would be driving around on public roads with a smoking turbo ? stick in an inexpensive cartridge if you're paranoid. Some of these late '80s cars have actually had turbo replacements at one time, so u wind up with a pretty solid unit, even like new in some instances. When u grab a junkyard turbo, u get all the attachments, especially the exhaust elbow. These parts takes away the frustration, requiring minor mods to employ them for your application.

Freshalloy have lotsa ka24 turbo examples from 200-500whp. From junkyard to kit to custom. Copy 'til your hearts content. These guys are cool and helpful. Set your goal / budget, then shoot
