The single cam compressor bolts on but the pulley doesnt line up right. Someone here just slapped the belt on and said it worked pretty good after it stopped squealing.

yeah, getting the a/c to work involved machining away part of the pulley, or making new grooves it it of something and waiting for the belt to seat itself properly on the new grooves/surface and stop squealing. it worked though. im gonna just see if i can either get new seals for the compressor so i can use r134 or find half a million dollars and recharge the system with freon, then pray to god my sloppy a/c plumbing skills hold in the refrigerant.

yeah. the ka24e compressor lines up fine bolt wise, but the pulley poses a small problem. at least you can mount the compressor and keep the system charged until you find a way to make everything fit. good luck with it.

Gets pretty cold in my car. A/C blows like a good whore with no teeth and ice in her mouth (no offense to any women on here). Lines had to be modified (FWD), the same will go for RWD as well.

Has anyone thought about making a bracket to adapt the KA compressor to the CA block with the pulley lining up right? It doesn't seem all that difficult and all you'd have to do is find the right sized belt.

Ok, so when you guys say modify the lines... I know on the sr the rubber hose will fit right on with a hose clamp... but the metal hose has to be welded onto the high pressure nozzel... is it the same for the ca or do i need to call that no teethed whore to come blow on it??

Yea, I have an idea to make it work, I'm just not sure if it will work yet. So here is the deal. The 2 pumps are identical except for the inlet and outlet and the pulleys. If you compare the units, the only difference between the 2 pulles is that one has the space at the back and one has it at the front. I know there has to be a way to get that pully off because I know you can change the clutch. If you could just swap the pulley's everything would line up perfect and you'd have no squealing and the origanal lines to boot! Now I just have to wait till it gets about 12 degrees outside so I can test this theory out.
