ok here's the story i have a 89 hatch that had a ka24e witch i no longer have (it ran it's time) so i purchased a s14 ka24de 80k mile block obd1 with a 5 speed transmission since my old transmission had alot of miles i wanted everything kosher i switched to a s13 ka24de harness and ecu i swapped everything needed for all the sensors to hook up i removed my all emissions ,a/c ,heater, some vacuum lines (so i did my home work and searched) brand new dohc power steering, ignition coil ,distributor, spark plugs ,starter, wires all gaskets everything tourqed to specs new mounts ,radiator and rewired fuel pump to a toggle switch.so my problem is the car cranks but it wont turn over i have spark i took out a plug and checked manually if i had spark so i know i have spark and as four fuel i have fuel i smelled it when i took out a plug from the wires ,the car cranks but it wont turn over i even put starting fluid in the throttle body but nothing everything is timed since i have the 248/248 cam set up same with the distributor at #1 piston the only thing that i can think off but it should still start at least for a couple of seconds is my tps sensor and / or my mas sensor so i just want some one to come down and just check my work to see if i missed anything that i cant see ....the car is located in reseda , california ill even hook you up with some gas fuel for driving down here and see if you can give it a try , im that desperate to seeing this car on the road againg thanks in advance guys ......your help is appreciated ........

Good luck bro. Search around for similar issues, i know theres lots of 'car cranks but wont turn over' threads here on nico. Go through a ll the typical checks again to make sure u didnt miss anything. I did my swap at the beginning of the year and had a similar problem but the car eventually started. It seemed to be a loose fuel line that i assume was causing a loss in pressure so it wasnt getting much fuel. I dont know if that sounds legitimate since im still a newb when it comes to swaps but it fixed the issue.

I help you out, I had the same problem on mine shortly after I finished rebuilding the engine. Just shoot me an email at [email protected] if you still can't figure it out. I could swing by this Friday, or Saturday afternoon.

well my fuel lines are good i have a mechanic that checked the car out and he said is my ecu that is fried and also i should put my original ecu back on there (ka24e)because every ecu has a serial # and thats why its not turning on and i tried to explain that i dont think that my ka24de engine is going to work with a ka24e ecu .......but he says it has to because everysysmtem has a way to work with the car ......so do i install a ka24de ecu or a ka24e ecu........????
