I am just trying to find out the price range of rebuilding my own ka in my garage, and the difficulty of doing it. I figure like I have been told the machine shop will do most of the work correct? Also plan on using the piston and rods I have now which have about 900 miles on them this shouldn't be a problem right?

if you could help me no every single part that I will have to replace as well like... pistons rings rod bearings???

click on these links and buy these

http://www.amsperformance.com/...id=96h ... d=153these should be fine if you wanna run boost up to 300whp

Then take your head and get it redone at a machine shop and buy new rings, new tensioners and get the blocked honed out.

also with the metal head gasket, you have to spray some copper spray seal stuff on it

doing the engine isnt too hard if its already out, its easier if you have a book to tell you how to do it or print out.

You can do it for under 1000 without any problem at all. A lot cheaper if you do your own headwork.

Just do a stock rebuild.New rings - 100 bucks FRsportACL bearings - ebay, 45 bucksBlock hot tanked/honed/freeze plugs - 150??? depends on your machine shoptiming chain kit - OEM ONLY!!! 200ishOil pump - (Full front timing cover) OEM ONLY!!! 230ish

The rest is going to be spent on the head. Mainly, lapping the valves and replacing the valve seals. If you buy your own tools and follow the writeup on Nico you can do it for the price of the valve seals. Otherwise your going to pay a pretty good chunk of change to do it.

All I do is read baby Google! Ill check the link though thanks.

Hey 480... I am only looking to rebuild my bottom end so... That shouldn't cost much at all. I just had a valve job on my head and every thing so I am assuming it is in some good condition? Also I will need rod bearings as well hu ( I think thats why I need a "rebuild")?

Also when rebuilding my bottom end. It will be a good build even though I am using same pistons and rods right. Cause when I got my rebuild back from this douche bag the motor felt very weak???
