I've had my SR for about a year, and I started using synthetic oil during my last oi change (Amsoil 10W-30).

I had my engine leakdown tested and all cylinders were under 7%, which is good, about 8 months ago, and have not made any real changes besides a Greddy FMIC and Blitz SS air filter.

I've never exerienced any oil loss before, and when I checked today, I found I was 1/2 quart low! I filled it up, and I will check more carefully.

Has anybody ever experienced oil loss when switching to synthetic? I never lost any oil with the other non-syntheitc oils I was suing (Usually Mobil Extended Performance Non-Synthetic).

I know 1/2 quart is not a lot, but I plan to leakdown test gain in a few weeks to makes sure all is good before I up the boost.

Synthetic oil can seep past worn seal's more than regular oil.

Piston rings? Valve stem seals? Head gasket? Blow-by?

The molecules in synthetic oil are thinner/smaller than the ones in conventional oil so they can get through worn seals/parts easier and show leaks.
