Did another oil change on my V yesterday (13,666 miles) and she is dry on the bottom. Just wondering how long that will last.

28,000 miles. Over 2 1/2 years old. Sound as a pound.

I would hope a car doesn't start leaking before 50,000 miles. I'd be buying another car real fast...

usually just a manifold gasket or oil pan gasket. Pretty cheap repair even if it did leak. A lot less than a new car.

My previous car was a 1987 Tercel wagon with 175k. It was wet from oil underneath but no drips after three days after an oil change. The filter screwed right onto the block horizontally and oil ran down to take it off.

I'm planning to replace those little plastic plug clips on the V, that hold the plastic cowling on under the oil filter, with sheet metal speed nuts and use 1/4" bolts to hold it on. Dirt in those plastic plug clips really makes them difficult to get off.

41,000 miles on my 07 Versa, and it's developed a small oil leak. I brought it into the dealer on Monday and they put some dye in it and said it appears to be coming from the top of the motor. I'm bringing it in on Monday to have a tech check out where the leak is coming from with a blacklight. Luckily, it should be covered by the power train warranty. However, I've lost faith in the Nissan brand when a 3 year old car is leaking oil already.

I'd be not be expecting any leaks for a long time yet. The first car I'd driven in the US was a manual 98 Saturn SL and the last time I had driven it even looked under it there was a good 140k on the clock and no leaks, the radiator had spring a leak by then. Although it did do what the other Saturn's of the same series do best burn oil! I'm hoping not to see anything leaking in this car before it hit's 100k I'd not be impressed if there were.

I have about 36,000 miles on my car and it has developed a little leak it seems. I haven't had a chance to put it on ramps to check, but any suggestions as to what could be leaking? Other than the obvious loose drain plug and filter?
