Any new tips? Just learned this one!

After having my EX for over a year I learned something new today . Recently I noticed that when I put the car in reverse the passenger side mirror would tilt down so that I could better see the curb when parallel parking. Then my wife drove the car and I noticed that when I put the car in reverse it did not tilt down again. Of coarse I did not go to the manual and try to figure out why it stopped doing it and figured it was one of the options in the NAV screen... 5 minutes later and after a little frustration I could not get the mirrors to tilt down.

FYI - My EX does not have the all around view camera not sure if the cars equipped with the all around view camera have this feature. Also I will be reading the manual now to find out what other features I am missing!

Solution: Turn the mirror adjustment knob to L or R depending on the curb side you are parking on and leave it on L or R, put the car in reverse and the mirror will tilt downward.

Long version from the Manual: Page 3-22 Reverse tilt-down feature (if so equipped)When backing up the vehicle, the right or left outside mirror will turn downward automatically to provide better rear visibility.1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.2. Move the selector lever to the R (Reverse) position.3. Choose the right or left outside mirror by operating the outside mirror control switch.4. The selected outside mirror surface moves downward.

When one of the following conditions has occurred,the selected outside mirror surface willreturn to its original position.- The selector lever is moved to any position other than R (Reverse).- The outside mirror control switch is set to the center position.- The ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position.

actually, because my TL did the same thing I left it on R mirror and just assumed it would do it. Since i do have AVM i tend to just use that. plus behind slightly than most cars, my right mirror is angled down and panned out a bit so i havent had any real clearance issues when it comes to the side. REAR SIDE visibility has been horrid since the quarter panel windows dont really function as windows. The rear cam and AVM is the only thing making it bearable.

That feature exists on cars that have around view monitor also. I don't use the tilting mirror feature that often though, just a few times when I wanted to get a better look at the curb.I read through basically the whole manual within the first few days of getting the car.

Turn VDC off coming from the stop light! Viper`s and ZO6 will eat your DUST all the time! LOL!

I call the VDC switch the "Fun Button"
