I have been on this forum for a long time, about 2 years now, just decided to make an account, but I was wondering if anyone has any news on the New M coming out maybe next year, a year to go and no news or anything, before buying another car I would like to probably get another M but something New and AWD in the Infiniti family.

M50?? A firecracker? Where did you here this rumor of a M50? I can see a M37 in the future due to the G37 being out.

I can see a m50 due to the 5.0 Liter v8 in the fx50, just like how they're probably sticking in the 3.7L in a M37 since the G37 has it as well to keep up with the competition. But since the M isn't really Infiniti's biggest selling car it usually gets the loving last

I assume Infiniti will not increase their engines power over 400hp due to the gas guzzler tax. For them to spec out the upcoming 5.0L to 390hp tells me there is quite a bit more to be had from that engine.

It would be nice to see the M50.

FX45 has lower gasmilage than the FX50. I think it something from 17/13 to go 20/15. If I remeber right.

It would make sense to get more power and better gasmilage. Infiniti has a tendency to use same engines accross the board.

Are they going to put it in? Well I think it is a question of the next few months. It seems to be Nissan is one of the only auto company who does not stop adding hp even in this economy. Like others keep cancelling the new product lines.

I certainly hope they will roll ourt with the M50.

Also they were thinking to make the GT-R's Infiniti brother. Now that would be hawt.

That Infiniti version of the GT-R would cost over $100K! It would more than likely look good, but count me out. I'd rather them put more engineering and styling into their G and M sedans. IMO.

Hmmmmm Well maybe because there was a Fx35 & Fx45 And a M35 and a M45. Now there is a Fx50 and the G35's now have a 3.7 in there which makes a hell of sense for the new M that comes out will have two options, A M37 and a M50.... Make Sense Now????

Here is a quote from an article on Wikipedia that mentions the M50:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti_M

2011 and later

Around 2011, Infiniti is expected to release an all new M, the M37 (VQ37VHR 3.7 liter 24 valve V-6, 330 hp) and the M50 (VK50VE 5.0 liter 32 valve V-8, 390 hp (291 kW), 369 lb·ft (500 N·m) torque). The new M is expected to take a design closer to that of the new G37 sedan & coupe.

No formal announcements yet, so I suspect that the Wikipedia note is more speculation than not.

Cool, then 2013 will be the year I will be buying another M. The M50 of course. My 07 should be due for trade by then. Then again, if nothing happens to my 07' M45 by then, I will just keep it and modify it.

No, I knew they would change it with the change of the M35 to M37. I would have thought they would have made it a M47 instead. Sounds better to me. It would go with the change of the M37. They could easily get those same power figures estimated for the M50 from a 4.7L size engine.

I would not put it past the bean counters to delay the M50 or even M47 and instead only offer the M37 for the next model year release. Sad as it is, it is a very reasonable reality. I cannot help but think that more 6 cylinders sold than 8s over the past couple of years.

If you want to stay afloat, you gotta sell your stuff to those that buy your stuff. I just hope it is not the I performance "soul" that is sold in the process.

I suppose though that if there are other 5.0L's being stuffed into the hamburger symbol cars, stands to reason through history that the I-brand would follow...

I understand, M47 does sound nice, M50 doesn't sound to bad either...
