To those who are a currently practicing ME:

Im doing an assignment for one of my classes and it requires me to interview a practicing interview.. all this would require is that you answer a handful of questions, shouldnt take more than a few minutes...

If you would be able to do this, let me know... [email protected]

I am a practicing ME, but never got the diploma. I got married right after I passed Thermodynamics, in my 3rd year of Engineering. I know, I was over the hard part, and just gettting to the fun part. I had a good job offer from a local Automation company, paying about what a graduate ME made. The owners of the company were going to cover the cost of me getting my diploma and PE, but when I started working for them, I became too valuable to send to school a couple days a week. I didn't care, I was making big money. I worked for them for 5 years, then went into the residential contracting business. That lasted a couple years, then Iwent back to the HVAC field, and landed a great job with Trane. I have been wit h Trane now, for 17 years. I advise Consulting Engineers on mechanical HVAC systems.

I would be happy to help, if I qualify.

My partners are an EE and an IE.

I am toying with the idea of completing my degree, and getting my PE. It won't help me financially at Trane, but might help me when I retire. I can do some consulting work on my own.

Jeff,I really think you should go back and finish it(degree). Might be too late though I guess. Personally, I think having a college degree is important for self reasons or work related. But that's just me.

In today's world, if you are young and in-experience, you got to have college degree. More and more people are going to college and is hard to compete for a new grad job even with a degree. Unlike many years ago(25+), you can get a good job by just completing hi school and work hard.

Since only Jeff spoke up I thought I would also offer you my brief resume. I am a Safety Engineer with a degree in Business Administration, concentration in Human Resource Management (the people people). I flunked out of UCLA as a 3rd year chemistry major but eventually graduated from Sac State. I am also a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and have completed certificate progams in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Health and Safety at UC Davis. I'm out on the shop floor all day long working with ME's, QE's, EE's, ChemE's, all of us performing engineering functions in the production of rocket motors. My speciality is material handling, I am the company Loadmaster in charge of rigging and crane lifting operations. After you are done with Jeff let me know if you want to talk.

By the way, my son is a junior at UC Berkeley majoring in Chemical Engineering. (Boast, Boast, Boast, Brag, Brag, Brag!!!)

Go Bears. Beat USC.

Now get back to your studies. Midterms are coming up.
