So I am currently in the middle of finishing my 5 speed swap on my s13. My only concern at the moment is my Flywheel. I took it to get it resurfaced because thats just what u do when you replace a clutch... Anyways this is a used flywheel I bought, when i got it didn't seem like it was beat up on... it wasn't glazed or anything major (Maybe some hotspots but I don't even know if you could call it that). Anyways on the pictures below you can see the flywheel is not even... Or is it??? Maybe there was a high spot on the flywheel. Also you can see there is a Step almost all around the ring but not on one spot....

So my question is.... If the flywheel is really even like the machine shop says it is should I go ahead and put it on? or should I buy another flywheel and get it resurfaced at a different machine shop?

Yours looks fine but normaly a machine shop will do the whole thing and as long as your clutch doesnt go beyond the resurfaced area youll be fine

It wasn't leveled properly when it was cut last time. You can get a gauge block or something else that you know is perfectly straight on the high side and use some feeler gauges to see how thick it is. If it's a thousandth or two you might be able to get away with it, anymore and I'd have a machine shop pull the dowels and flush the whole face.

also I fixed your pictures. just put [img][/img]around whatever the address is for you pictures. If you're not sure, just edit your post and look at what I did there.

Yes, I think the best thing to do is have the machine shop pull the dowels and flush the whole face. I mean who wants to take the risk of having to pull the transmission out again?

Another question..... How many times can you resurface a flywheel? How much is too much?

Thank you for fixing the pictures.
