I recently got into an 08G35S seda.n... It's nice but too small for my liking :gotme !!

Cool! I am over at the montrose area. I just bought an 06 M35, and now I am drooling over an M56. I definitely like the M models over the G models because of the spaciousness.

I will be needing new tires soon and the roads around here suck so I am looking for some harder compound tires. Got any suggestions?

Harder compounds equal louder tires at hwy speeds... Hankook EVO v12 a very good tires available in 19"!! I had them in 20" thought they were and awesome tire. I currently have a brand new set of Hankook Ventus V4 in 255/35/20" for a possible square set up of 20x10 but undecided... If you're interested in 20" I'll give you a great price :gotme !!

I'm up in The Woodlands with a 2008 M35x.

Regarding tires, I bought a set of the Continental DWS to replace the Hankooks that were on the car - I like the Continental's a lot better. Interesting thing though, I also put the DWS' on my other car, a 2003 G35 sedan. While they are a good match for the quiet and smooth M, they don't have enough grip for the G.

Hey what's up dude. I posted last year about buying a new M. I just moved to The Woodlands a couple of months ago. We should grab a beer in town or something...

What up guys.

Have you guys heard of Cars & Coffee? It's basically a meet up that happens on the first Saturday of each month and gear heads around Houston come and park their tricked out cars for the public to view. It takes place at Vintage Park and typically cars come and meet up at 7AM and it goes until 10AM.

Would you guys be down in meeting up this Sat? I am also trying to find out if we can park our cars on display. I've seen a group of Kias park once, if they can get some slots, I am sure a few Infinitis can.

Does anyone know when the next Post Oak event is? That would be the ideal time to meet up.

We should all wash our cars prior to showing up too haha..

I won't be ready to meet up until about a month from now because I admit I am conceded and that extra month gives me time to get my new wheels exhaust and roof spoiler on the car. I just have htechs on right now. :naughty: :chuckle: hahaha

Although Iive in the energy corridor and I've been saying a lot of nice modded M's lately so I think the turn out should be good.

P.s. Any one want to help me wax my car before any meets because i sadly live in an apt and would rather not pay $250+ at a carwash .

Yo is this meet up happening or what ?! If anyone is interested then lets find a time and place and meet up soon. City center, sugar land, post oak (galleria) whatever just not in buttf**k woodlands or peatland look. Looking forward to meeting some of the Houston M guys with their "lacking" cars, unlike mine... :woot: :chuckle:

I am down to meet up during the week of 9/15. Sadly, my car is in the shop and the time of return is yet to be determined =(

I attempted to swap out the spark plugs because I hit the 100K mile mark and when I was removing plugs from cyl 5 & 6, there was wet oil on the threads.

I am by no means an expert, but I have never seen/heard of it being normal when oil is on the plugs. I knew something was wrong but I proceeded with the install anyway and hoped for the best.

So I turn over the engine (I was pretty nervous about this), and next thing you know, smoke everywhere, idling at 3500 RPM, two cylinders completely misfiring. I turned the car off and called a tow truck.

The shop ran a compression leak-down test and measured 300 misfires in 30 seconds and they verified my suspicions that the the valve-cover gaskets were worn out and oil was leaking into the spark-plug cylinder and other components.

The really weird thing is I am surprised I wasn't losing a lot of oil prior to this discovery and also surprised that I was still getting around 20 MPG even with and no sign of burning oil.

Long-story short, it set me back $615 bucks because I couldn't do that work on my own with the tools I have, nor did I have enough time to get the parts, additional tools, help from friends and whatever else I needed. I should be getting it back tomorrow.

For future reference, definitely make sure you run a compression-leak down test on your Ms if you have high miles and measure your misfires. If you catch it early, you can do the work with help from friends. It will take an entire day, but it will also save you $700 bucks (hell, I'll help you just so you guys can avoid the same drama I had to deal with)

In terms of meeting up, next Friday works for me.
