on my 240sx vert the doors are rattleing when i hit bumps/undulations in the road. it sounds like they are hitting bump-stops but it is a metal on metal contact and its kind off loud. I can push on the door from the outside and make the same noise, the door goes in a little bit then taps somthing that makes the noise. I was wondering if anyone knew a remedy to this noise or what exactly is tapping so i can fix it.

Thanks for reading!

is it the door moving causing the noise or something in the door rattling, if it is just the door not shutting tight you can loosen the bolts on the sticker on door jam and just push it towards inside of car as you tighten the bolts up and it should help...i hope thats what your talkin about good luck

A buddy of mine showed me what was going on. The door was actually still loose when it was closed b/c it wasnt shut all the way. there was a round plastic piece missing that goes around the pin on the car where the door hooks onto. without the piece the door only hooked to the first stage, i guess thats a good word for it, and it was a little loose. i bought an inch of clear vinyl tube, 3/8" diam. i think, and wraped it around the pin/door catch.

if anyone wants to know what i am talking about bump this and maybe you will get pictures, or a better explaination.

I know exactly what your talking about, I think. The metal loop that the door catches onto when you close it.
