Dang they look like new ! I am deff interested in these for my Maxima as I am bout to order up some wheels from TireRack for it- approx 1200 bux + tires for another 1K.

Can you tell me how much these weight ? Are they used ? Weight is a HUGE factor for me as I been there with heavy wheels when I 1st got a set of 18" wheels for it 4 years ago.

I got some Enkei RPO1s for sale that are on my Maxima, 17x8 38mm offset with some good Dunlop rubber. 17lbs per rim, fits Q45s nicely.

im not sure of exact weight, but i will find out. They are used, but in great shape. I'll get some more pics when i go back to the shop. I know they are a forged wheel. BBS typically doesnt produce cheap or heavy wheels. Being that these are forged, im guessing than they are neither cheap or heavy.

I might be a bit scared to run RPO1s on a Q - I love those wheels but I doubt they can handle the Q's weight...

And yeah, heavy 18s suck.

Rob, funny thing is- I got my RPO1s used off a 95 GS300 which isn't light eighter. Guy had them on that car for bout 2 years before I got em. I doubt they can't hold the weight, but I don't know their weight rating and they are in storage right now so I cant check the stampings.

LOUIS- I am deff interested in the wheels, maybe we can work something out outside this forum, shoot me a E-mail at [email protected]

4x 18x9 would be good. 45mm may work on the front of a G50. 40mm would be better.

I thought they were cast, but maybe not.

I am not seeing staggered wheels on a Maxima, unless wider ones are on front. Just not right.

FWIW, those are sexy .

If I could sell my extra motortcycle, I'd be all over them. Hope you sell them, but if not, I'll check back when warmer weather hits.

Well problem with the 5th gen Maxima like mine is if you install the same wheels front and rear - the rear wheels will be tucked in WAY more than the fronts. It has to do with the track width vs body width on the back. For some gay reason Nissan did it like that and the only way to get the rear wheels to sit flush like the fronts (38mm 8" wide wheels sit flush) is to eighter get diff offset for the rear and stagger them, or install wheel spacers. I hate putting spacers on cars, and that is why I choose to stagger- even thou its FWD. Here is a comparison of a 5th gen Maxima WITH and without spacers- notice how far in the wheels are on the stock Max.

Yeah, but you would be accentuating the FWD understeerng nature of the car into truly ugly proportions. Sometimes, dynamic function trumps static looks, or at least it should.

The problems you describe are inherent to the car's design.

Well, you can overcome the understeer problem fairly eassy in my case. I run JIC FLTA2 coil overs which I can change the spring rates on fairly eassy. Personally I am going with stiffer than front spring rates for the spring. I have found out from my own testing that stiffer rear springs add LOTs of oversteer, and those larger rear contact patches will help even out the handling. Another benefit I see is able to corner weight the car properly for my type of driving- road racing. As silly as it sounds, my only 2900lbs Maxima does fairly well considering it has lots of usable powerband, and fair amount of power vs 4 cylinders and other NA 6 cylinders.

But like you said, staggered is really for looks only, and in MY case it works really good (stiffer rear springs), and i hate the way the rear wheels are tucked in way too far inward. Ahhh the great mutli-link beam suspension.... dumb Nissan.

Yeah, the old (or at least middle age) Nissan, is gone.

You can stiffen the springs for sure (can you say hop?), but one just cannot overcome the engineered polar moment of inertia around the front axle inherent in theat design.
