Just wondering if anyone has heard what changes they might make to the 2010's. I'm pretty close to buying a 2009 but I might decide to wait for the 2010's to come out. When could I expect the 2010's to arrive? Thanks

You can wait but probably you won't see any major changes and then you can wait forever and see how cars are updating from year to year. I saw somewhere on ebay people selling stuff and putting numbers like fit 2008-2010 Nissan Rogue. But still the car is only 2 years on a market it is too soon to talk about any major changes. Look at RAV4 it sitting with the same design and ugly spare tire on the back for years and all they "refreshed" this year is a tail lights. What you will see for sure is a higher price 2010 models. Expect it in the end of the year like september-october.

We probably won't hear anything about the 2010 Rogue's until late summer... likely August. Last year, there were only a few changes... mainly to the option packages. You can read more in the Official Rogue FAQ here: 2009 Rogue - Model Changes

In the case of last year, I predicted a few changes to the content packages as it was only the second year of the new model. That's exactly what happened.

As for what to expect this year? It's anybody's guess. Nissan is very coy about releasing information on new models. We usually find out at the last minute. My best guesstimate for 2010 will be almost the same:

- Changes to option packages... or entirely new option packages.- Changes to standard features on various trim levels.- Possibly a Special Edition model?

In light of depressed auto sales, I expect Nissan will try to add more value instead of making big changes. Either through reduced MSRP or more standard features for the same price to try and pump up sales.

I do not expect any major changes for the Rogue until the 2011 model year. Typically Nissan does a mid-cycle refresh of thier models after 3 years. Entirely new models are released every 5-6 years. Mid-cycle refreshes usually involve some updated styling and possibly mechanical changes. Others are hoping the NAV system and automatic climate control from the Qashqai (European model that the Rogue is based on) may be introduced in the US... it's a possibility.

Nissan is also developing their own hybrid and all electric drivetrains. It's possible a Hybrid or even an all electric Rogue to compete with the Ford Escape may be on the horizon for 2011 or beyond.

One more thing....

Nissan sells a 3-row/7 passenger CUV called the Qashqai+2 in the UK. As we all know, the Rogue is based on the Qashqai. It's conceivable that a 7 passenger Rogue could be made available in North America if there was demand for it. The only problem is the back seats really are small... small children and pets only?

Hmm...but wouldn't a three-row Murano preclude a three-row Rogue?

A seven passenger crossover is something Nissan lacks in thier lineup. Something to compete with the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, etc. IMHO this is an important market segment that Nissan is ignoring. Not everyone wants/needs a mid size SUV or minivan to get 7 passenger seating.

A 7 passenger Rogue would compete with the 7 passenger RAV4, Suzuki XL-7, etc.
