Are you sure you want a mechanic instead of a TECHNICAN?

If the NE is any thing like the South a COMPETENT Independent is only $20-25 an hour less than dealerships [loaner, wash, coffee].

Many times is turns out cheap to use the dealership to do the diagnosis.

Many Nissan 300zx Specialty Shops may be better than generic

What work do you need to have done

When I went to Keith Van Meter's shop in Mantua, New Jersey, his receptionist told me that they frequently get Q's from Connecticut. I believe he's the only one on the Atlantic East Coast. If there are others, they haven't made themselves known.

Injectors 1, 2, and 8 are pretty easy to remove/install. All the other ones require plenum removal. If you can ohm your injectors and narrow it down, you can easily get it replaced. Now, if it happens to be one of the ones under the plenum, then you might as well give it the old college try and inspect/replace the hoses down there.

You'll have removed the plenum already to do the knock sensors if I'm not mistaken. If you're not going to do it yourself, you should find all the relevant material from the board and bring it to whatever shop you take the Q to. At least you'll know the steps and be able to watch the mechanic.

I would really like to do it all myself. How much time you think that would take. labor would probably be way to expensive

Don't rightly know. Have you downloaded the FSM for your year? It'll really help.

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q45/1994_Q45/

There's a link to the complete Factory Service Manual for a 94 Q45.

When replacing the injector, don't reuse the o-ring. Get a new one. Make sure you lubricate it to it doesn't tear during installation and leak fuel into the cylinder.

I was told that the color of the dot on the injectors doesn't make any difference. I have no idea why they are colored. Some colors cost more than others I noticed. I bought a known good injector from a NICO member from Colorado. It works great, It's been about 7 months since I changed it. I'm happy. No more rough idle.

IDK. I've never done KS. I have no knowledge of them other than their function. I know how to ohm them, and that's about it.

I paid $25 for a set of 4. It came out to be $6.25 per injector. Some might say used injectors are a bad idea but it's been about 7 months and not a hint of trouble.

I feel like i wanna go that route as well. ive been looking hard for used ones but no one has them.

to be honest i haven't checked the resistence on them to begin with to see how many i need.

I did find the site for deatchwerks. do you have any knowledge on shipping them used injectors?

There's always someone with them. Have you checked the classified boards?

Used injectors are pretty common after part-outs.

What I know about Deatschwerks is that they take your used injectors, test them, sonically clean them, test again for optimal fuel flow and spray pattern and send it back. It's usually best to just removed the entire fuel rail and send it. If they find an injector that's out of spec, they notify you and replace it I believe.
