I just bought a 91 240SX SE fastback 5spd. The bad thing is that it has 235,000 miles. i was wonderin if it would be cheaper to rebuild the KA and put on a couple of bolt ons, or buy a SR20DET and have it swapped. Im still in high school so money is hard to come by. i have $1500 that i can spend. i was just wonderin which would be easier and cheaper.

well your definately not doin a sr swap with 1500 dollars, you could rebuild the ka for that much, try this website it has almost everything you'll need to rebuild that engine better than it was from the factory: http://www.importperformanceparts.net

well a good sr2o will cost you more than 15oo to get her running right. How well is your KA running? if you feel it will last a while, hang on to her, and save up your dough for an SR, or CA or whatever u want. If u think she'll die soon, then u might want to look at getting a junkyard KA for cheap and dropping her in there for the time being, a KA rebuild will cost you about as much as an SR, but the KA will be cheaper in the long run, cause u wont have as many problems with install and stuff

True, beware the $1500 engine. I say build a plan. Have a multi-stage plan for upgrades and then research each product and get prices. That is what I did. Then you can change it as you feel the desire for one part over another. My plan will be over the next two years or so.
