Hello everyone,
I also have a 2002 SE-R and I am having a similar, if not the exact same problem. The car stutters at idle and jerks while accelerating. Once I'm driving, the car runs 'fine' up to about 50 mph, any faster than that would make the car stutter badly. I thought it was the MAF, but reading all these posts I think I should be looking somewhere else. I believe it is not the TPS since I had a new one put in not too long ago (also, to double check, I re-installed the previous TPS I had and it made no difference). My mechanic has had the car for a few weeks already and they called me today and told me the it may be the gas pedal. I can hardly believe that is the problem, so I decided to go down there for a look. I insisted that the problem had to be somewhere in the air intake system or with the fuel pump and all. They agreed with me, but then showed me that the car idles perfectly without the pedal attached to it. Of course, since there is not a throttle cable with these new Nissan models, we couldn't manually accelerate the car to check if the engine would stutter at 2500-3000 rpms. They did tell me though that they had taken the pedal appart and messed with the internal parts (springs and such) and that after they they put it back in, they were able to drive it for some time with no problems. I still find it hard to believe that the pedal would be to blame.
Let me know what you guys think or if you're able to temporarily replace the pedal to see what it does. I'm going to try to find one myself to see what happens.
Cheers
