Go to a gun shop and purchase a 25lb bag of leadshot and place in rear storage compartment- will help entire rear shelf from vibrating.

Is it the box, held in by 6 or 7 screws, or the lid doing all the rattling? If the bag of buckshot inside the compartment doesn't quiet it down try laying the bag on top of the lid.

If you're intent on removing this glovebox you'll need to remove both pieces of the rear seat, bottom first, and then pop up the entire shelf and remove it.

IIRC there should be at least a dozen plastic buttons/fasteners holding down the rear shelf. If the previous owner changed the fuel pump/FPCU and didn't make sure all the fasteners were reinstalled in the deck, or didn't reinstall the screws fastening the box then the entire deck could be rattling.
