I have chewed straight through my resonator on my exhaust and i have MAYBE almost an inch of clearance between it and it is unbelievably loud in the cabin now since I have a giant hole right underneath. I was thinking about going to the muffler shop and just getting them to put straight pipe i but I wasnt sure if its a good idea or not. Any input?

Once thats done, where are some good points along the underneath to hoise the exhaust up? Its an ebay special and has a total of 3 hangers... two on the muffler, and one in the middle of the exhuast that doesnt connect to any hanger. So I have wire wrapped around the pipe next to the resonator connected to what looked like some sort of stress bar? It was dark and the car was on a jack so I just looked for something fixed to connect it to

Im on 15s with 195s and my back fender is about 3/4 of an inch over the tire and the front just convers the tread. My frame is probably about two inches off the ground

*The 15s are 8" wide

Nothing doing man. At that ride height your gonna scrape something. Either raise the car or get used to carefully navigating any and all imperfections in the road.

I managed to get about another 3/4 of an inch now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the rattle on the subframe.

have you ever thought of using rectangular tubing to add another few inches of clearence?...i saw it used on a D1 car in Japan...the tubing was 1 1/2 inch X 3 1/3 inch wide..they just customed up a transition from the down pipe ...look'd wicked...just an idea man..

go with a custom dart izumi style like man. it gives a good 1"-2" higher up clearance.
also driftworks.com has these hangers for the exhaust that are adjustable levels, i have the 3 for the end of the exhaust pipe. and theyre great. real stiff and beefy.

rectangular exhuast tubing sounds really interesting. and definitely a good way to get good clearance but it flow as freely as a round tube? I guess if its straight piped it doesnt matter too much

Seems to me the rectangle piping is a good idea. And straight pipe is awesome! Just careful for the popo

haha luckily i live in southern north carolina so its a bunch of rednecks with loud trucks. the cops dont mind too much about noise. so straight piping most likely with rectangular pipe is in the near future, ill let everyone know how it works as far as clearance!
