Bought the 1993 J30 without any remote entry device. I have the code.

Infinity wanted $120 for the unit. There must be a cheaper way!

Any ideas?

Hey thanks! That helps a lot! Does the J30 have a built in alarm?

yup. i'm personally not a big fan of it though. i like the kind that are sensitive to touch and vibration. the stock J alarm only goes off when it's set and a door is opened or hood and trunk. This is where that door lock timer bites most people. The timer will malfunction causing the doors to lock and alarm to arm then the driver will open the doors from the inside causing the alarm to sound.

Well, tell me about the door lock timers. My is out I think. I have been locked out of my car. I had the car in my driveway and was working in the yard, so I just left the keys in the car. When I went to move the car, it was locked! Guess what. I only had one key. Had to call a locksmith to get me in......can you believe it! I had an extra key made of course. I love the ride and look of the car, but I have already had my share of gremlins. I hope I don't have a lemon. Please tell me how to change the timer. I did see something on this on another thread. It is somewhere under the dashboard in a hard to get spot.

By the way, did you get my other e-mail?

Thanks.:pface

As far as the remote itself, you may want to check eBay. They always have nissan/infiniti remotes on there slightly used and at some good prices. If you have the code for your car, it sould be easy to progam without the help of the dealer, or the dealer may do it no charge.
