any home brewers?

... so my dad used to brew his own beer, and well it was pritty good, so i have been thinking that maby i should try my hand at this.. i dont really drink but i think it would be sweet to brew my own beer and if nothing els let my friends/family enjoy the outcome.. so does anyone do this? if so are there any good tips i should know about and what kinda supplys should i get (i know i need 2 big 6 gallon buckets and all that stuff.. ) but i found a site with most of the stuff that i would need im guessin, as there arnt too many supply stores around..

The Mr. Beer kits are pretty good. I've tried most of their brews.
