While getting my block ready for the machine shop, I noticed the thing(I'm not sure what the correct name is) that the oil filter threads on to has a cracked tab where on of the bolts goes through it. Upon disassembly it broke even more. I'm just wondering what that thing is called and where I can get one? Or if any one has one they'd like to sell me.

Thanks.

are you talking about the oil filter housing itself? If so, you'd probably have to source one from someone on here or look into an oil filter relocation, but im really not sure.

yea you'll probably have to source one from someone on here. you could do an oil filter relocation and oil cooler (if funds are there) if you can't find the stock piece. Someone also did something with a sandwich adapter in the RB forum...

Don't I still need that housing if I run an oil cooler?

im not 100% sure on that, but i'd say no? (someone else chime in?)

you're cheapest way to get it to work if u can't find a housing from someone is to get a sandwich plate from http://www.glowshiftdirect.com (3/4 unf 16) and put it to the block like the people in the RB forum did. Then you can just block off the 1/8npt ports for sensor and put the oil filter on and away you go.

But again, i do NOT know if you need to have the housing itself on or not.
