Hey, I'm killin' time too. Been fighting with the wife lately, and now she won't talk to me. Maybe that's a good thing.I'm a little too old to get rebellious, but I'm with you in spirit.Maybe it's time for you to find a new Bfriend. I'd like to be single again, but it would bankrupt me.Oh well. As for cars, I really want a '66 XKE roadster. Second choice is a good slightly used Porsche 968. hard to find.

Speaking of lotteries, it might be interesting to start a thread re: if you had a gazzillion dollars, what would be your ultimate driving machine? Maybe it's been done before, but it would still be fun.Or, how would you like to be in Jay Leno's shoes? He's the ultimate car collector with unlimited funds. Lucky bugger.I wouldn't mind a Mclaren F1 myself. Oh to dream.FYI, I won 10 bucks last week on a lotto ticket. Can't decide what to spend it on.Decisions decisions.

As my hero Red Green always says: real men only need two tools. Duct Tape and WD40. If it moves and it's not supposed to...duct tape.If it doesn't move and it's supposed to...WD40.

P.S. decided to spend my 10 bucks on more lottery tickets. Feelin' lucky.

Yes..yes...I agree. Death by car wreck is my number one feared way to die. -.-

...but, I had to see what happened when the speedometer ran out of room. Now I know. My need for overwhelmingly dangerous speeds has been satiated for the time being....especially after a nearly 500 ticket, I have learned my lesson. I don't believe in risking life for a few seconds of fun anymore.

Death by a slow and uneventful life is my number one.

Honda doesn't believe in governors.

nor does Ford....I pegged the Supercoupe more than once...probably around 140 in it...the speedo stopped at 120.

I think the most I've gone in the Civic is 115....

Yeah, I had a lil' first gen CRX and I ran that thing redlined all the way to work every morning in the wee hours. I can't recall how fast it went though. I was always looking at the clock. Damned thing got the best gas mileage I've ever seen though.

True story.

Dude I went to high school with had this old arse Granada. POS if I ever saw one. Don't know what engine it had, but it was weak.

He's late for work, rolling down the highway at a blistering 80+mph.

Cop pulls him over and say, and I qoute...
Illinois State Patrol Officer wrote:Son, I pulled you over cause I clocked you at over 80 miles per hour. I don't believe that this car can do that. If you can go a mile up the road, and do it again, and go as fast or faster, I'll let you go, no ticket.
So, said friend turns around, goes up about a mile or so, pulls a U-ie, and floors it. Passes the trooper, pulls over and waits. Trooper walks to the car, radar in hand, and shows him the readout. 87MPH.

Trooper lets him go, still late for work...lol. Boss was pissed he was late, but when he heard the story, started laughing his *** off.
