at 57k on my 07 M35 and loving the car. I want to change out the filter, it is due, I am hesitant or probably not gonna do the CAI as although i love the sound I already have the exhaust and hate to add more road noise/drone for now with CAI or CAI under load

So other then OEM any other cotton/non-oil drop filters for this car like AEM that at least maybe are little better, sound or life then stock?

Any good places to but filter and cabin filter on line other other then advance auto?-

there wouldnt be any drone when you put in the CAI . you will hear a little grunt from the front yah , but not a drone inside or to the exhaust, but if you want a drop in filter , alot of people just put in the K&N drop in filter

cool thnaks, yes not too much of drone in past CAI but in general light loads and my heavy foot it is always louder LOL to the passengers anyway.

My exhaust is magnaflows and it really sounds great, great bark at startup and mellow at cruise but definitely louder and noticeable if you pay attention or have radio down or off and of course under load. Outside car most people hear the exhaust and really like it.

So with CAI I dint think I need it or want to add more sound to car and I know HP# are not a big deal or concern with CAI. So maybe just a better drop in for life and breathing.

I would consider the UPREV though I hear they are good for 2+mpg on normal driving?

K&N is an awesome drop in filter for the M! Had mine (actually still have it stored) and it worked great until I upgraded to the R2C M45 intake!! If you want it I may still have original box and shipping should be farely cheap!!
I paid $55+ tax at my local auto parts store. You can have mine for $30 shipped if you like!! Only used for about 5k to 6k miles... :gotme

I used it like it came... No additional oil of any kind. Filter stays clean for a long time!!
