I'm wondering if it's worth signing up. Any other similar clubs that do sponsored track days and formalized meet ups?

I had my sedan up around 105 briefly the other day because I was following my jackass friend in his M5, but some track time up in the 100s (where it is safe to do so) would be a much better way to exercise the car.

The SCCA has what they call the "Performance Driving Experience". Go to their web site, http://www.scca.org, and put PDX in the Search box. This looks like instruction and track time at various levels. Unmodified street cars are OK for the lower levels. SCCA also has Solo II which is running around cones in a parking lot at fairly low speeds.

Other clubs like BMWCCA and PCA have DE (Driving Experience) events on race tracks. Since these are marque clubs, I don't know whether others are welcome.
