I suppose I could out into the parking lot and look, but people usually respond pretty quickly to my stupid questions around here! :ylsuper

At least the 90-93's dont have a rear anti-away bar in the base version.I am pretty sure same applies to the 94-96's.

The reason I have one in, is cuz I have an aftermarket Stillen one in there.

Fred...:)

The bulk of the 90-96Q on the road had NO rear sway bar thus the great ride but severe rear body roll in cornering fast or even changing lanes. It was expected that those who wanted performance would opt for the Q45t or even Q45a.

The factory oem tires had special stiff sidewalls and edge belts plus a cap belt so those tires did not roll [deflect] as much as the single ply polyester sidewalls most use today.

Roll doesn't affect the tire load so the roll did not affect handling [numbers on a skid pad] other than the feel of it.

This thread is very informative and very technical. I just have a simple question. Is it O.K. if I just install the basic rear stabilizer kit as directed or is it necessary to do other things like urathane bushings?

I added mine with the stock bushings and am very satisfied.

Members must realize that adding 40 lbs per inch of rear sway resistance [extra stiffness in turn] is not really significant 163/123......theoretically 32% but the rubber bushings probably make it more like 20-25%............something like a sway reduction of 6/10th of an inch at best out of the full range of rear motion.

Changing rear shocks as they wear and weaken in rebound will be more significant...........expecting oem rears to last more than 50k is not going to happen!

Total sway [springs and bars] vs transistional roll [shocks].

What will happen is a reduction of 10% in the amount of steering you have to crank into the steering wheel at maximum load.......as the understeer becomes more towards neutral!

Back to the desirability of the kit . . . I installed it since last posting. It's not as much bang-for-the-buck as the amazing '93 transmission controller, but my car is a different animal with the "a" bar. You could tell it moved differently just leaving the driveway. Familiar curve have a different radius. Buy one! Keep the supply chain open for next year's enthusiasts!

I haven't got the urethane bushings yet, but they're on my list -- obviously the way to go.

My rear bar kit from Joe just arrived late last week. Now I gotta get it installed (along with all the other stuff sitting in my garage ... Tokico shocks, IROTOR rotors, new pads, front upper links, tension rod bushings, etc., etc., etc.) I gotta find TIME!! Argh!!
