I have heard about Fightex coilovers, they are made by Toda racing, rather expencive though. Are they worthy of their price?

Never heard of Fightex, but I have heard of Toda. They makes cams and other engine parts for the SR. IMO, if your going to spend big money on suspension, might as well go with something battle tested and proven like Tein or JIC.

From the Toda website:Quote »TODA Racing utilizes the latest design and manufacturing technologies to produce FIGHTEX coilover systems. FIGHTEX coilover systems should not be confused with cheaper height adjustable systems. The FIGHTEX system is a complete racing suspension and is specifically tuned for each vehicle application.

All systems are produced from aluminum (not steel) to reduce unsprung weight, aide in faster suspension cooling, and resistance to corrosion which is common with coilover dampers manufactured from steel. FIGHTEX suspension systems are among the worlds highest quality and highest performing coil-overs systems. All development and manufacturing is done in house by TODA Racing.[/quote]Seem pretty bad ***. May be a bit too rough for the steet...they avertise it as a race coilover, so it's probably really hard core. S/r's for an s13 are 7front/6rear...so maybe they're not valved too rough? Try them out and let us know!:)

yeah, it really might be too harsh for the street. I guess I'll go with the KYB AGX.

Some things that have come up in previous coilover discussions are warranty, customer service and rebuild facilities. You really want to make sure that the company that makes your coilover has an office in this country.

If you need to call Japan to ask a question or do something under warranty, well...it's an expensive call. ;)

Tein, JIC and Endless/Zeal have offices in the US. Last I heard, JIC wasn't set up yet to do rebuilds in the US, so they ship their stuff to Japan. Tein rebuilds their stuff here. I don't know a hell of a lot about Endless/Zeal but the website makes it sound like they can rebuild non-race stuff in the US.

Anyway, I've never heard of Fightex and I'm not sure about Toda's US presence. The site only lists a North American distributor.

The distributor can act as the middle man if a rebuild is necessary.
