Alright, so I have my HDTV and my DirecTV HD receiver hooked up, but I really miss having a TiVo. DirecTV wants $200 to lease me a new DVR, and ebay offers some for around $120. I'm wondering though, does the HD DVR completely replace the HD receiver? I think it does but I am not certain. Also, most of the DVRs on ebay are the TiVo/DirecTV ones, but I don't know if I have to subscribe to TiVo in order for it to work. I wouldn't think I'd need to, since all the TiVo subscription gives really is the programming guide, and DirecTV supplies that already.

Thanks NICO!

the dvr hd receiver is one box. It,s the box i have hooke dup i the living room and every thing works perfectly. Never had a tivo. I guess as long as your television is hd compatable, and not just hd ready. If it is hd ready you will need the converter box od what ever it is called to decipher the hd signal to your receiver.
