Are there any differences between the transmission used on the RB20DE and the RB25DET? Are they the same transmission? Thanks in advance.

thanks for the help, though I don't think being a d!ck about it was neccessary. I did do a search through the general, technical, and rb forums. Only problem is I searched for "transmission" and "transmission" which neither search returns the thread you directed me to. I didn't think to search for "trans" since I've never heard anyone refer to a transmission as a trans.

transmission. Trans. Same thing. They're both slang for transsexual.

Yeah, I was actually referring to the RB20DET and RB25DET. I didn't realize there were non-turbo versions of both engines out there until I did some more reading last night.

After reading the couple of replies to the thread JonPowell referred me to, I am beginning to think they are different. Is one able to handle more power than the other?

If you think I was being a d!ck there, wait until I get pissed off instead instead of just irritated. I hate when people say they searched and then I find the EXACT SAME THREAD in 2 clicks of the mouse. Just makes you look lazy & a liar.

Not saying you are....just saying it looks that way.

Here is a picture I took last year.

RB20 on the left, RB25DET on the right. Obviously. HUGE difference.

its by no means weak, just isnt as strong as a 25 trans. the 20 transmission is identical to the KA/SR trans and those have held over 400whp reliabiliy
